I stayed there as I suspect most visitors do, for one night before my morning flight to the US. Arriving by train in the evening I had to get a taxi which is a fixed fare of £8 to the hotel and back to the airport in the morning using the pre booked shuttle (available 6-10am) for £4 (this is really just a taxi/minibus share arrangement rather than the hotels own cars/minibuses. This means I've already spent £12 extra in travel for a hotel that is meant to be at the airport. Arriving by car will cost you £10 in overnight parking fees which is outrageous for a hotel/car park that is located off site.
On arrival checkin was fast and friendly and the restaurant serves a decent range of chain pub food at surprisingly reasonable prices for a near airport location. The bar prices are also quite reasonable.
The room was fine. Basic but clean and bright which is what you would expect from Premier Inn. The bed was very comfortable and although facing the main road the soundproof was excellent.
As long as you factor in the cost of overnight parking or taxis/shuttle bus this is a decent hotel for a pre flight stay
