“Highlight of my trip to Manchester!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2014

The People's History Museum looked interesting on its website, and various reviews, but it exceeded all expectations. Beautiful building, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff, fascinating history with brilliant displays. Perfect coffee shop, delicious food. Inspiring, in terms of the dedication to the idea that all people are equal. Absolutely not to be missed.

“unusual and interesting”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 August 2014

unfortunately i hadn't enough time to spend in this brillant museum, cause I would like to stay there much more than the hour i had!!!
It shows lots of different point of view and tells hystory of people's struggles, and that's a really intersting innovation.
good job.

“Great little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

Found this place by accident and after seeing reviews decided to call in. Well it was ace. So much happened in Manchester to influence the reforms act, trade union movement, industrial revolution and UK politics. The period runs from 1800 until the 1980s and is a mountain of excellent information. Give yourself at least 2 hours. It's free to enter but they do receive donations (take the hint!). It is well done and very thought provoking. Ps. Has a great little cafe next to the canal. Perfect for a lazy day watching the world go by.

“An absolute delight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

The best museum I have visited for a long time - a museum to be proud of. May not be fascinating to everyone but the criticisms of political bias elsewhere are entirely ignorant - of course 'people's history' suggests a left-wing approach but there is a clear avoidance of judgement and an entirely laudable approach to history / evidence throughout. If you've any interest at all in modern history and politics you will learn something at this museum.

Very enjoyable, a good couple of hours spent wondering around the exhibits, There are a lot of draws to pull out and look inside, quite a few interactive items as well, would go again.
