We stayed here for a night after visiting the science museum. As a family of five with three small children there are not many hotels that will accommodate us even though many advertise family rooms, so we are grateful to The Midland. The hotel is splendid and grand from the outside and just the same inside. The room had two double beds and a sofa bed and plenty big enough for us. All the staff we came into contact with were superb especially the concierge guys and the guy on reception in the leisure club, very friendly and understanding of three small children running amok.
Our room was on a room only basis as I think the breakfast, however good it may be, is overpriced, it seems most hotels are charging £15 - £20 per person now for breakfast which is a little ott for me.
We usually stay at the Raddison when visiting Manchester but have been converted to The Midland due to the price we payed for our room and the way the staff welcomed my family, we will be back!!

Third time staying at this hotel. Love all of it! Since the first steep in, the friendly and always helpful staff make you feel like at home. Large lobby, efficient check in and spotless room, clean, big, well decorated and what is important, superb comfortable bed and great linen. Breakfast is top class, varied and inviting. Wyvern restaurant at the hotel offers fabulous meals!
Always stay here when I go to Manchester for business and will never star anywhere else. First class experience for a luxury treat.

Friends from America were staying with us for a few days and wanted to visit Manchester as they had obtained tickets to see Manchester United. We parked the car near Victoria Station on the North side of the City and walked via the Cathedral, past the historic Shambles Area and via the beautifully restored Royal Exchange, through Albert Square via St Anne's Square and finished up at The Midland Hotel for a champagne Afternoon Tea. The restaurant was absolutely superb, the quality of food and service outstanding and our American friends have not stopped talking about it since.
If you are looking for a very special place to treat yourself in Manchester, this experience is one not to be missed

Beautiful hotel, with fascinating history and architecture. Very comfortable and clean bedroom with full mod cons, delicious food in Wyvern restaurant, but it took a long while for main meal to be served. Friendly staff, fabulous choice for breakfast, including a dedicated gluten free selection. A fine hotel, in the heart of the city. Definitely recommended for a luxury treat.

Have stayed here on a number of occasions for nights out in Manchester. Love the relaxed atmosphere in luxurious surroundings. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. However, on the last occasion (31st Mar 2013), I have to say I was slightly disappointed with the housekeeping; hair and dust build-up on the seat of the vanity table chair, spilt drink marks on the bedside table pedestal and broken shower fittings. It didn't detract from the overall stay but it's the little things done right that make a great hotel outstanding.

We stayed there on recent trip to Manchester, stayed at The Midlands in the centre of the city. Loved the spacious reception area and the decor. The room was spotless, clean, well furnished and most importantly a comfortable bed. Decent breakfast the next morning, lovely friendly smiley staff. They must love working there (we stayed at one their sister hotels in Cheltenham a few months back, and the staff there were equally friendly and happy - what great staff training). My only niggle here is, like all city centre hotels, there's no on site parking, so the overnight stay at the nearby NCP did crank up the cost.
