We stopped at the Midland for 1 night whilst visiting Manchester to catch up with some friends.
We arrived early (a little too early for an early check in!) to be greeted by friendly and professional staff, who were in the process of check out fro the morning guests. As we were so early our bags were placed in storage for us until later in the afternoon.
We returned a couple of hours later, checked in very quickly and made our way up to our room, on the 5th floor, outward facing (some rooms are internal facing). The room was small and compact, with high ceilings and original finishings. What did spoil the decor for me, was the use of chrome switches at eye level, but white plastic where the TV connects to the wall. For me, this was a disappointment for a prestige hotel.
TV came with an extensive selection of programmes in various languages, and the AC was powerful enough to keep the room cool on a moderately warm evening. The bed had separate headboards, with a springy but soft mattress.
We skipped breakfast as at £20 per head for a plated hot breakfast, felt this was too expensive for Central Manchester, which has a variety of options for half the price.
Check out was quick and smooth, and overall a good experience.
