Dear James E,

It’s wonderful to read how much you enjoyed your celebratory stay at The Midland, we are certainly lucky to have such a fantastic, architecturally stunning building to work from and it’s great to read that our location also suited your trip to Manchester.

I will pass your compliments to the breakfast staff in Mr. Cooper’s House & Garden, particularly the kitchen team who I know will be pleased that their hard work behind the scenes is appreciated.

I hope we can welcome you back to the hotel on a future trip to the city; I look forward to seeing you very soon.

Kind regards,

Thomas Smith

From the moment you walk in ,it is such a beautiful hotel . Checkin was made easy and luggage was waiting in room. The food was really nice whilst attending a conference here. Drinks at the bar were pricey but at a rate you expect in most city centre hotels.

What a beautiful hotel. So friendly. Reception was welcoming. A bottle of wine was delivered to our room to aid our celebration courtesy of the hotel, a lovely touch. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the library. We had some coffee in the octagon lounge. Great service in impressive surroundings. We ate in Mr coopers. Beautiful food, friendly staff and a great price. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Just stayed here for two nights as on a conference; great, central location and within easy walking distance of shops and all local attractions and about 8 minutes walk from the station. Really nice having a conference located within the same hotel staying in, as very easy to pop to one's room and have a bit of time out for catching up on urgent work etc. This really took the stress out of being away from work and home out of things. All wifi'd so that made a very pleasant change from the hassle of having to pay for it as an additional etc; makes a HUGE difference for guests!! Thank you! :) Staff and service was excellent and reception, dining room, bar and concierge staff all excellent! Room lovely and spacious with everything you need and king size bed; fab! :) Food nice and everything just made very easy. Highly recommend!

Two areas for improvements and and only slight negatives! for me! I really loathe dining room Muzak and could well live sans it and one or too bit could do with a bit of modernisation. That's all though.

Room Tip: Away from lifts

I've been lucky enough to stay at the Midland several times, usually for two nights at a time, and I love it because it's so consistently good And judging by all those televised interviews outside the rear entrance, it seems that successive prime ministers agree with me, though I've never met one in the lobbv - indeed, anywhere else in the hotel. But then, the Midland is so efficient and discrete that I'd probably never even know if the whole Cabinet was in residence. There's a timeless charm about the place, with good sized well furnished rooms, high standards of cleanliness, courtesy and care from staff at all levels, excellent restaurants and bars and lovely lounges. I've also seen, but never actually used, the fitness centre, because my special occasions don't include unnecessary exercise. However, it's an easy walk to the city centre, and while it's not the cheapest hotel available, the Midland's comfortable and classy. And of course it's close to the conference centre so you might get a glimpse of the great and/or the good if that's your thing! Just bear in mind that they probably come and go via the rear entrance, not the grand foyer.

Dear Belstar,

The Midland does indeed have a fantastic connection with the political leaders of today as well as the great historical figures of the past including Churchill and Lloyd-George.

Your compliments regarding the fantastic standards of cleanliness and customer care you have experienced consistently over your visits are much appreciated – I will pass your thanks onto the whole team here and hope to welcome you back to the hotel very soon; be sure to ask some of our longer-serving staff for stories of the great and the good over the years!

Stayed for only 1 night with my daughter, but both wished we could have stayed longer! Hotel was in a great location for the purpose of our visit to Manchester and looked very impressive from the outside. The grand foyer was stunning and the reception staff were very welcoming. Our twin room on the 1st floor had 2 queen sized beds which were very comfortable, and the room was clean and well furnished. Breakfast was delicious and the restaurant staff were lovely. If I had anything at all to moan about, it would be the noise of the trams outside, but this wouldn't stop me returning to the Midland.
