Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Eleven Didsbury Park... from the moment we arrived and was given a warm welcome to the moment we left nothing was too much trouble for the staff.Room was clean and welcoming...classic FM playing on the stereo which stayed on making for a relaxing time..Stayed in room 42 with the added luxury of a bath outside..wait until it's dark....and well enjoy!
All together a lovely hotel, nicely placed 5 minutes walk from Didsbury village.

Room Tip: if you are looking for a spot of romance go for room 42!

It's as if you're visiting friends at their home. It is decorated like that and it's sized like that so it feels like that.
Only comment is that that the person at reception was not very patient to explain how to get there, as I couldn't get the address on the GPS.

Room Tip: What they called Villa is a good room. The other one we booked, much cheaper, was too small.

We had another very nice stay at Eleven Didsbury. It is a beautiful property, friendly staff and nice breakfast. Just two tips to pass along:
- When travelling in EU/UK, beds are typically double or queen. If you are used to a king, ask about the beds in the room.
- Avoid the top floor at Eleven Didsbury in the summer. No air conditioning, so it can get quite hot on the top floor.

Even though I live very close by I decided to treat my boyfriend to a stay at 11 Didsbury Park as we were going to see an outdoor play at Fletcher Moss Gardens just around the corner.

We stayed in a classic double room which was very cosy and well appointed with a view overlooking the garden. The bathroom was on a slightly raised level (3 or 4 steps) and was equally as well appointed as the room. There was no bathtub but there was a very powerful rainfall shower. We managed to get an excellent nights sleep as the bed was very comfy and the hotel was very quiet.

The staff were friendly and available to help if we needed anything. We didn't spend a great deal of time in the hotel and just used it as a base to explore Didsbury for the one night. I would probably stay in the hotel again, just to see what the other rooms are like and also what the food is like. I've eaten at Great John Street (another Eclectic Hotel in Manchester City Centre) and the food was great there so I expect the same is true of 11 Didsbury Park.

The surrounding area is lovely, and Didsbury village is only a short walk away. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the staff will be only too happy to arrange reservations for you.

...it smells like... like the NHS facility next door.

Customer expectation is a funny thing, and everyone runs the risk of over-hyping the product/service, building that expectation too high, then failing to deliver. Having been through the very slick website, and seen the glowing reviews on here, I was anticipating an excellent, relaxing, first-class experience.

Unfortunately, the sheen came off the slick presentation almost from the start. First up is the Wi-Fi; a whole ten of my English Pounds for very patchy and very slow internet access. 320m/s ping and 2mb/s download speed (slower than your average 3G phone now), with plenty of blackspots in the building.

Next disappointment was the food. I learned long ago to play safe with hotel food, so elected for the burger and 'proper chips'. What arrived was a curious mix of second-rate pub grub and a half-hearted attempt at modernist cooking. The burger, in a ciabatta with parma ham (WTF?!?) was the size and consistency of a tin of travel sweets. Chips were some poorly cooked lumps of rectangular stuff which might have once been potato. Was pretty cold by the time it arrived at my room.

To add the final garnish to the insult to my wallet was the surly staff, towels the thickness and abrasiveness of sandpaper, a bathroom so tight that sitting on the throne met having the door handle in your face, the intermittant noise of upstairs' doings travelling down the waste pipe, periodic air-conditioning noise, and a mini-bar more expensive than a BA flight.

That said, the room was nice, the bed pretty comfortable, and when I stayed the whole place was pretty quiet and largely deserted. The garden is nice, although overlooked by an imposing building at the back.

But, the effect of the decent sleep was dimished by the aforementioned smell of ravioli wafting over the wall from next door. The smell of school dinners that always seems to exist near hospital canteens. The hopeless breakfast bar with cold toast and warm cereal milk arrangement was the final nail in the coffin for Eleven Didsbury Park.

Not worth the money, or the hype it's created for itself I'm afraid - I've stayed in far better places for far less money. Okay if you just want a comfy bed to crash in, but if you want some good food and internet to work with after a long day on the road, give it a miss.

Room Tip: Room 16 is quiet, excepting you get to hear upstairs' poo falling down the waste pipe, and you...

From the moment we stepped into this stylish hotel we decided that it was the perfect place to hold our wedding. It has a very welcoming feel to it and all the staff are all friendly and helpful. We had our wedding ceremony at Didsbury House Hotel followed by a barbeque in the garden at Eleven and both venues have a charm of their own.

We stayed in Room 17 which was perfect as it covers two floors and the ground floor leads to the terrace and garden. The room itself is wonderful. It has a lovely bathroom with a great shower, a separate bath in the bedroom (felt very luxurious) and views across the garden.

The service we received from Eleven was faultless, from the great advice and help in planning the wedding with Jess, to the attention to detail that we received from Dan and the team on the actual wedding day. The weather was quite changeable but the staff brought everything indoors at extremely short notice and nothing was too much trouble for them. The barbeque food was delicious, as was the afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes.

I would advise anyone who is planning a small wedding (we had 35 guests) to look no further. We had a wonderful wedding, which felt like a fabulous house party but with someone else doing all the hard work! Thanks to everyone at Didsbury House Hotel and Eleven for a perfect Wedding Day.

I stayed in this hotel with my husband for our anniversary on the back of a recommendation from a friend.  We live in Manchester so wouldn’t normally stay in a hotel in the city but the grandparents offering to have the children for the night is too good an opportunity to miss.
We stayed in what appeared to be a newly decorated room, beautifully appointed, spacious and quirky, there was a roll top bath in the bedroom!  Watching TV whilst soaking in the bath with a glass of champagne was real luxury.   The bed was so comfy and the huge rain shower was just the thing in the morning.  We both had cooked breakfast which we agreed was the best we’ve ever eaten.

Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful garden.  Maybe next time.

The service here is impeccable.  The staff is genuinely friendly and nothing too much trouble.  The receptionist recommended a great restaurant and booked a table for us and the smiley waitress at breakfast, obviously busy, was unflustered, efficient and made time to chat to us. On check out we met another receptionist who was also just as friendly.

This place is a real find, you almost want to keep it a secret but it’s not fair on the rest of you to not experience it.  We will most definitely be returning!
