“Great value for money!”
Reviewed 18 November 2011

Needed to book this hotel and the Britannia in Bolton so spoke directly to charming girl on the phone. Only paid £29 for the room so wasn't expecting much. Arrived at hotel via SatNav which directed us round the back of a nightclub which turned out not to be the grand entrance which we later discovered. Check in was quick even with a large queue and we were upgraded to a superior type suite with jacuzzi bath & four poster! Bar was pleasant and reasonably priced and seemed to be a stopover favourite for hoilday makers using the hotel parking service which didn't cause a problem. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Only recommendation would be to move the smoking area elsewhere as we were located at the front of the hotel, the smoke drifted up into our room through the windows which is not pleasant in the morning. Also the jacuzzi bath didn't work which I would have been dissappointed if I had paid full price. Pool and spa on the lower floor was nice but building is suffering a bit of damp and mildew showing in places, Mr Muscle mould and mildew can sort that out though. Thanks for a nice experience to all at the hotel.:-) Bolton lacked the same effect but breakfast was nice there and service friendly enough.

Room Tip: Ring up as they will ask if you've seen any good deals anywhere.

Booked via Britania Hotels web site, dinner bed and breakfast. All aspects of checking in, having dinner and checking out went without a hitch; without having to enquire about the extras promised. The room allocated was a good size with large bathroom and included a bath type jacuzzi.
Although the room was pleasant enough we felt that the decor was getting a little tired.
So far as the dining room was concerned we felt that most of the tables were too close together for any degree of privacy. The food was satisfying although we were disapponted to find that there was only two types of vegetables in addition to potatoes. Breakfast was more than adequate.
Overall a pleasant stay.

Stayed here Last week(7Nov-11Nov)with Just Go Holidays had a great time.Coach driver, great guy, checked with reception before we went in and I was in my room within 10 mins.I am a single traveller but had a double room of a good size my only down side was the size of the shower,a little cramped,I am 6'2".The room was clean and quite spacious and the towels were fresh every day also had tea and coffee making facillities. The English Breakfast and the Three Course Carvery at night were exellent as was our entertainment.Peter our compare was always ready with infomation relating to our next days trip. Some of my fellow travellers did have problems with electronic key cards but mine worked every time. Will certainly go back. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant.Room 149 in the back of hotel not a great view but only in there at night and was ether asleep or getting changed.

Stayed here on Saturday night. There was a wedding on, so I suppose all the better rooms were booked. We had a tiny room with a view to service staircase. The room had coffee making facilities a comfy double bed and a small bathroom with a shower. All you need for a one night stay.
The transport to the airport was a bit messed up on the way. They did finally order us a taxi. On the way back from the airport you have to go to departures level and wait outside for a van to call your name. We rang as soon as we arrived but had to wait for an hour before our name was called. It really is better just to take a taxi back, especially if you've just been on a long flight or if it's cold outside.
Our car was left very near the hotel entrance and it was fine on the return, safe place to leave your car and you can keep hold of your keys.
Very good deal for park and stay, well worth it. The hotel has nice facilities, so no need to go anywhere else.

Room Tip: I heard other people had stayed there and got a room with a 4 poster bed, even with the park and rid...

Firstly, my wife visited the hotel in mid October for a local coach firms annual conference. We have been to previous similar conferences which were held at various locations. My wife, and other people attending the conference, agreed that this was by far the best location that the firm had used. Good accommodation, food, pleasant and polite staff. The decor of the room used for the conference dinner was outstanding.
The second visit, also a coach trip, was on the 15th November, and followed a short shopping visit to the Trafford Centre. We received a warm welcome from the staff and enjoyed an excellent dinner in pleasant surroundings. Following the dinner we were entertained by Peter who ensured that we had an extremely enjoyable afternoon. He, like all of the staff at the hotel, was polite and courteous. All staff members were a credit to the hotel. Colin W.

We stayed at this hotel on a coach trip holiday and were very impressed with the service we received. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was good and plentiful, the evening entertainment was very good indeed. Staff helpful and friendly. There was only one downside some of the dining room staff had a very poor understanding of the English language.
