This hotel does need a handy man as all hotels do !! But it is what is is and isnt trying to be anything else the room I stayed in was a little date but over all it was comfortable and quiet. Some rooms are great but u would have to ask to see the rooms before comitting to the preffered choice, worth an ask.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in, and we had an executive room. Rooms were filthy. Chairs ripped no make that shredded and stained. Windows held in with duct tape, 4 TV channels on old style TV with broken remote. Stains on everything, every room. Even the phone was filthy. The hall way carpeting leading to room was full of stains, two different colors of duct tape and a red mat covering who knows what. One reviewer worded it perfectly, wouldn't want a homeless person to stay at this hotel/dump.

Stayed here on 5th July 2014 for one night booked two rooms for 5 girls age 24 for a birthday night out.
When we arrived we was checked in very quickly and given two room keys per room and rooms next door to each other but when we went into one room it was full of people clothes so we went down to reception where they apologised and put us in a different room!

Rooms are clean enough with comfy beds, coffee and tea making facilities, toiletries and towels, iron and ironing board provided! Only problem we had with our room is the lighting is very dull as they only have lamps and no ceiling lamps!

Check out at 11.

We didn't use the hotel bar and restaurant so cannot comment on them but if your just looking for somewhere to get your head down this is the perfect place! Will deffinately use this hotel again!

Booked fairly last minute with booking.com at a reduced rate & still felt ripped off. Moldy bathroom, horrible smell in the hallways, uncomfortable bed. Not the worse place I've ever stayed but the price is totally unjustified. Stayed next night in a cheaper hotel that was 100x nicer & just round the corner.

I was very skeptical as to whether to stay in this hotel on a break in Manchester. The reviews suggest that its literally hell on earth. Non the less, I gave it a go and was surprised.

The hotel is located in a fantastic spot. Central to the the town center as you can be. There are coffee shops, food outlets, bars, shopping center and even china town all within a 5 minute walk. Could not be in a better spot.

The hotel is very red on arrival. The staff were helpful and put us on the second floor. The room was clean, had a window and was comfy.

The hotel has a bar, which does cheap drinks. It also has a gym/pool facilities. For a small fee of £4, you can have access to these. The gym isn't great as its small, though never used it. But I used the pool, jacuzzi and sauna which was pleasant.

There are a few niggly points though.

The decor of the place is very outdated. It does need a major referb.
There are a few dodgy looking characters in the hotel, which can be worrying
Hotel doesn't have a car park. They do have a map of a place to park, but its about a 15 min walk. You can park in a public car park outside for £15 for 24 hours.

Overall I was pleased with the overall experience. For those you dislike the place, I suggest rather than stay in the hotel all day, you leave the hotel and explore Manchester.

The other reviews say it all disgusting paid 85 for one night room only and feel totally ripped off.looking at some of the clientele I would not be surprised if the council use it for emergency accommodation for the homeless. Location was good but would never stay there again

The hotel is old. If you don't like old hotels you won't like this. But it is situated in the centre of Manchester an easy walk to just about anything! The bus depot, the train to the airport, Coronation Street, Great shopping...! The rooms are plain and clean with kettles, TV, and quite a nice bathroom. The staff is exceptional accommodating our desire to check in early without charge (we checked in at nine instead of three!) We had to take a small room that was made up but it was fine! There's a nice pub/restaurant downstairs, but the big surprise is a very nice modern gym and pool!. I'd stay here again anytime, as would my adult son.

Room Tip: both the rooms and kid activities are average....I had trouble with the dots responding and so ended...
