absolutely dreadful hotel! booked an "executive" double room ..all i can say is god knows what the standard rooms must be like! room was freezing cold with no extra blankets, wrdrobe door had dropped off and the kettle didnt work. on arrival a bottle of hard surface cleaner had been left slung on the bed which i had no hesitation in using as the room was grubby to say the least!
staff unfriendly. specifically requested a quiet room and had to suffer twenty verses of "she`ll be coming round the mountains " and an extremely bad version of "no woman no cry" until 5.30 am by the people in the next room. no atempt was made to remedy this.would never use again!

Needed somewhere cheap to stay and would have been better off at a Premier Travel Inn.

We got a last minute deal online for £79 for an executive twin room instead of the walk in rate of £115. There was nothing executive about the room. The windows and decorative balcony were filthy, the bathroom had mould growing on the bath seal, the shower temperature had one setting that would result in 3rd degree burns if you got caught and the mattress was so thin I could feel the bed frame!

The hotel has obviously not had any refurbishment since it first opened and is not good value for money. A real disappointment!

Absolutely gob smacked that they expect people to pay £131 pounds for this standard of room!!!
Location was good, reception area wasn't too bad and staff were friendly.
Entered the room and could not believe that they charge so much for a tiny room, that smelled very very musty and damp. In serious need of decoration and a new bathroom. The room was very very tall and had windows at the very top with no curtains at all. We had a very important day the next day and did not want to be woken at the crack of dawn with light flooding in.
Spending so much money on a hotel room for a night is a treat for my husband and I. We felt that we could not bear to spend so much money on something of such a poor standard, sowe left. (i'm not a snob and have never ever done this before!!)
The Premier Inn that we booked ourselves into after we left was a much better standard and only £80!!!

Stayed here on a cheapo deal rate as part of a large convention taking place in Manchester at the time so £40 for the Double Exec for one night (special rate) we thought was excellent. With Breakfast included.
Given that the room was titled Executive it was all a bit meh. There was nothing that would really define the room to be executive until you compare it to some of the other windowless lightless sweat boxes/rooms which had air con which didn't work.

As for breakfast well I'd just advise you to stay away from the scrambled wobble known as "Eggs"....

Otherwise breakfast was ok but nothing to write home about...or anywhere else for that matter

Stayed here with my mother for 3 nights over the Easter Holidays. Central location, friendly check-in staff (offered us breakfast for £5 pp which we hadn't booked as it was £10.95 online and changed room to twin when only double was showing when booking online). Rooms were clean and had tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, trouser press, television. Didn't use the shower in the bathroom as we used the leisure centre - swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Met very friendly locals in the leisure centre. Hotel is dated and sure is ready for a make over but would have no problem staying here again. We only paid £52 per night for the room so I wouldn't have expected much more. Stayed before in thishotel in an internal room and having no windows was strange so would recommend booking room with windows.

I stayed at the Britannia Sachas Hotel for one night. The hotel seems to have a lot of amenities, like a sport centre in the basement, and is not far from the train station and the shopping street. Another plus side for me was the nice cookies in the bedroom which made for a nice treat after my train journey. I also had a really cheap lunch (a fiver for three courses) in the bar/restaurant on the ground floor.
Otherwise, I found the hotel a bit dated. It probably used to be more pleasant a couple of decades ago. Some features could do with being modernised, such as the linoleum floor in the bathroom, carpet and curtains.

Pros - Location, lobby, guy on reception was helpful
Cons - The lobby looks fine when you arrive at the hotel however, when we stepped out of the lift the thick, stale, musty stench hit us. Our 'suite' was not much better. Although we requested a non-smoking room, the smell in the room was awful. The carpet and curtains looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years and the decor appeared not to have been updated since the 1970's. We booked a suite which was pretty awful so I wouldn't like to see the economy rooms. We are not used to staying in fancy hotels but do expect good fresh clean accommodation from a 3*. Would never stay here again.
