On arrival the Hotel foyer looks very impressive but the rooms were fairly basic but were kept clean, there was a problem that we didn't have a television on the first day of arrival.
Evening meal both nights were disgusting and inedible. Breakfasts were not to bad. Manchester itself very busy and very noisy so don't expect to get a good sleep.
On the plus side the hotel was very central to the shopping area, and there was also a China Town.
A visit to the Trafford Centre is a must ,It is a huge area crammed with all well known brands, and designer shops too. Also a vast area for eating.
Enjoyed this trip,Coronatiion Street trip was brilliant, and not far away from the hotel.Would recommend a visit.

Stayed here on a 2 night excursion with Majestic. Hotel looked not too bad from the outside but the inside was totally different. The staff weren't particularly friendly - the lifts took ages, the bannister on the 4th floor was remarkably shaky as my husband went to lean on it which is dangerous, the food was disgraceful. The rooms weren't particularly clean and were hot and we couldn't sleep as we couldn't open the window very much. If you have any sense, pay a little bit more and stay somewhere else. Will not be returning here again

Hmmmm, well I thought I would book a night away because we were watching a show in Manchester and I thought it would make for a nice romantic weekend. This hotel isn't the one to choose.

Great location for being in the centre of everything, hence why we picked it.
The room we got given (as we had paid for a room without a window) was kind of what we expected having been in a britannia hotel before. Basically four walls, dark room, with a skylight. Having no window means if it's a hot room like ours was, you can't just open a window to let some air in and there is no air conditioning, so you just have to suffer. All this aside as soon as we went into the room, it absolutely stank of what can be described as dirty extract air that smelt chemical-like. We went downstairs to tell them as we literally couldn't breath properly and I was getting wheezy. The member of staff came up, we opened the door and he just said that it was ridiculous and that he would move us right away. He was very friendly and very helpful, so can't fault the night staff there.

The room we got was a room with a window, which was very nice of them and was 100 times better than the previous one.

But then that wasn't the problem, it was the neighbours, shouting and talking literally all night from 1.30am to 6.30am! So we would have probably been better sleeping outside. Beware because of the location (next to a nightclub) there are a lot of drunk people and so this hotel is more for hen parties and club goers. Basically people who are too drunk to notice where they are.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for a window room. Or just pick a different hotel.

This hotel has seen better days but it's lovely, it's welcoming, was ideal for the 2 days that I spent there, it's in a prime spot in Manchester. The staff are lovely, very helpful and accommodating. The food was hot and tasty, and a buffet style so you could have as much or as little as you wanted. Would go back to this hotel for short stays.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window, if one isn't available, you will need to ask for a fan

Right ok, ermm the location was ideal, very convinient and easy to find when stumbling home at 4am after a couple of rose wines and a burger king feast. Cleanliness is a dubious shout for me, ceilen was a tad bit damp, in strange places, like a spider had wriggled to the middle of the ceilen had a bath then scuttled off. Couple of paint jobs and re-wallpapering required but im not going to shout loud about this as it had no direct impact on how I went about my business. Service was mixed, a bit like the languages they attempted to speak to you in, they were friendly enough and gave me and my friend some toilet roll at 345am, I wont go in to the details of this requirement. The night porters were a bit chewy and gave us hassle for being 'disruptive', I think its because we were dancing to Steps-5,6,7,8 whilst drinking Asda's own label amaretto. The price of the hotel was very wallet-friendly and even included food. This is where the establishment lets itself down... The chef skips in and out of his quarters eating food whilst bringing trays of overcooked, stale, flavourless and dull food. He has lovely rosey cheeks and a ripe little smile on his face but I feel his Zach Dingle-like sideburns need shaving off or covering up whilst he sorts the grub out as I found a hair in my rice, I didnt do a DNA test but it looked like it belonged to him. The variation of food didnt variate and it was the same drab night after night. Im not mocking the chefs ability to do his job im mearly saying id rather eat a bag of stag beatles. There wasnt a bar in the food area to use, you got a shot glass to use for water out of the dispenser after the 7 minute queue as the waters the only natural thing at the buffet, hence the queue, supply and demand, I get it. Back to the room, boiling hot, couldnt breathe on a night, window opened an inch but was soon closed when we saw a blood and shame filled condom on the ledge. He must of hammered the poor lass it was full to brim. The hotel is nice along with location and price but for the love of God go have your dinner at Greggs. Cheers.

This hotel is in need of a refurb. It's a grand old place, the carpets are very dated and the furnishings in the rooms have seen better days. Having said that you get good deals so it's cheap and the location is perfect. The staff are friendly and the bar prices are really cheap. My suite room had jets in the bath which was nice. Small windows that didn't open more than a couple of inches and a useless cooler in the room made for a very hot and stuffy atmosphere but the hotel did provide a fan when asked which helped. I'd definitely avoid this hotel in a heatwave but overall it's good if you're not expecting the Ritz. Breakfast good for a buffet standard.
