Hotel is old and was under remodeling. Rooms are bellow Renaissance Level in US.

Bed quality was average and noise was coming thru the new glass walls, so I had to use era plugs.

Luckly the bathroom has water mixer in the sink and not the 2 faucets for Hot and another for cold water.

The best are the large amount of restaurants at walking distance (remember to bring an umbrella, as it is rains all the time.)

The only good thing about the hotel is the central location. There are hotels that are significantly better value for money in Manchester than this.

It's dated. The bathroom and the decor comes out of the 70s (not in a good way).

The breakfast wasn't great.

The rooms were vast though, big enough for 2 superking beds. It would have done for a family with 2 children.

Spent 9 days here earlier in the month - a regular stay at this time of year. The hotel is utterly reliable in every respect - clean, convenient, comfortable etc., etc. The recent refurbishment has brightened things up too - although in the hot weather, I really missed having a fridge in my room, and the air-conditioning was rather noisy. However, where the hotel really scores is with its lovely friendly and helpful staff. Hope to be back as usual next year at the same time...

I've stayed at this hotel many times this year and have been a fan - great location, fantastic & helpful staff, refurbished & spacious room, good breakfast including a chef, comfy bed - but let down recently by the non existent air conditioning. I know the weather has been hot recently but it was 31 C (I have a thermometer on my phone) in my room when I checked in and only dropped to 26 after leaving air con on all day at 5 C ! If a hot room doesn't bother you I'd recommend this place, but if it does I'd give it a miss until the weather cools down.

Room Tip: Get a room at the back overlooking the canal as the front can sometimes be noisey

As a Marriott member we have used this hotel before! On our last visit we were pleasantly surprised to fine our room had been refurbished to a better standard than our previous visit. The rooms may be a little quirky but are of a good standard. Hotel is ideally situated for the phones4U Arena and other city centre attractions. However, parking can be confusing and we paid on exit, only to find out afterwards we has also been charged by the hotel. So double check before leaving! Bar area is large and service OK. Overall a good/average city centre base.

Room Tip: Make sure you are in the correct area of the multi storey car park and have checked your bill for pa...

Stayed in this hotel for one night with a group of friends, very close to everything, check in was very quick. Hotel is really lovely, the rooms are massive, to double beds plus a little seating area with a little sofa, chair and a coffe table. Would definitely stay here again.
