OK shopping street. Traditional shop fronts, mostly one unit each, pretty well all kn own names with lots of branches in averagely comfortable places. not surprised to see about two dozen empty or closed down shops. We constantly hear and see that slightly more expensive shops do not get effected by economic downturns. it appeared to us that the places that had closed ha more likely failed to change evolve or adapt to modern trends and needs. Fairly steady flow of flush looking kids in and out of Jack Wills but otherwise not much smart or dapper feel about the place. Worth noting though that Manchester seems to have move almost completely to tieless guys in suits and there seem to be few pedestrians with the obesity problems so obvious in much of the rest of the country.
