We popped in for a meal after work and went for a banquet at £26 per head. The food was excellent and we left stuffed. Well recommended!

Was in Manchester last night with the family and decided to try Chinese food for our evening meal. It is difficult to find a fully halal restaurant but we were recommended Red Chilli that serves most dishes with Halal Chicken or Lamb if requested.
There are combination Indian/Chinese Halal restaurants but in my experience they don't give the authentic experience one hopes for. It is always a good sign when the restaurant is full of Chinese diners, couples and families.
Very happy we ate at Red Chilli; staff were patient, attentive and helpful. Our dishes were excellent. Special mention goes to the Crispy Aromatic Lamb (with pancakes) starter which was shredded at the table side and the main - Fried King Prawn with green and red chilli (without shells). They accommodated us by ordering off menu as well, which was appreciated. The bill worked out to £22 per person with soft drinks, a starter and a main course each, which was good value for the amount of food received.
The décor is slightly dark and dated but in my experience the food & service will be the reason I would be happy to return to Red Chilli.

We are quite fussy about Chinese food as we lived in Singapore in the 1980s and find the monosodium glutamate so often added to it in British restaurants destroys the authentic flavours of the ingredients. As soon as we tasted the food at Red Chilli, however, it brought back memories of the freshly prepared rice, vegetables, seafood and herbs that we enjoyed throughout Asia. Even the prawn crackers were good! The staff were friendly and, when we explained that we were going to the theatre, they made sure that we were served quickly without it being a trouble. An excellent eating experience.

Headed here on a whim and the food was excellent. I ordered crispy shredded fillet beef in Cantonese sauce and it was very fresh. The meat was actually shredded fillet of beef and tasted fresh, rather than the frozen kind. My boyfriend ordered chicken in black bean sauce which wasn't even on the menu and they obliged and made it him. The portions were huge and great value for money. Would definitely recommend!

A few of us from work decided to have our Christmas meal here. It proved easy to get to and parking at the back by the hospital is free after 8,

In short, the food served was generally of very good quality (most of us enjoyed our dishes) but the service left something to be desired,

It wasn't the actual attitude of the waiters, it was more that the restaurant wasn't full on this Friday night and many of them were simply standing around. They may have rostered many, anticipating a busy night. Sadly, the place was barely 60% full on this December evening,

I would return here, but not in a hurry and I would certainly try out other Chinese places in the centre of Manchester before making a real comparison. However I wouldn't dismiss the place either.

Prices were reasonable for what was on offer.
