“Great central location”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

Literally on the doorstep of deansgate locks, this hotel is super central, clean and friendly. We had booked on Expedia on an advance purchase rate and it was definitely value for money. Would definitely stay here again. The only downfall is the lack of parking. Don't fall for the overly priced NCP which is the nearest to the hotel. Be prepared to walk an extra minute or so to the more open car park round the back which offers 24 hours for £8.50.
The staff were helpful and we would recommend this to anyone who wants a central location for a short stay in Manchester.

Just back from an overnight stay at the Jury’s Inn Manchester and from the moment we arrived we were very impressed.

The lobby area is modern and inviting and the check in was friendly and efficient. Having received our room cards, (which have to be used to gain access to the stairs and to use the lifts) , we made our way to room 137.

The room was modern, stylish and spacious with a double and single bed and all the usual features :- 32 inch Samsung LED TV. Tea and coffee making facilities, In-drawer hairdryer, telephone etc. The bathroom was modern and quite large with bath and shower and wall mounted soap and shampoo dispensers.

Breakfast the next morning was buffet style with the usual selection of bacon, sausage, fried or scrambled egg, mushrooms, hash browns and tomato etc as well as a choice of cereals, fruit, pastries and toast etc

All-in -all , a good, value-for-money hotel in an excellent city centre location with restaurants and bars all within a 10 minute walk

Had a great overnight stay at this Hotel - could not fault it for value the room was lovely and sparkling clean. The reception staff were very friendly, polite and professional especially Evie and Laura its a shame reception staff at other hotels are not as smiling and welcoming as these two. Had a great 3 course meal in the restuarant that night good choice, good portions and well presented. Full English breakfast with choice of fresh fruit to start and croisants to finish.

Thank you to the Jury's Inn for a lovely overnight stay in Manchester.

Stayed from 4th to 5th April as a couple, booked via Laterooms at £50 for advanced purchase rate Inc breakfast.

We booked the Jury's Inn Manchester for a short stay as we were seeing a band at The HMV Ritz, which was just around the corner. The hotel is also a short walk from Manchester Central and Oxford Rd stations with a tram stop just over the road too. King Street and the Arndale Centre are approximately 10-15 mins walk respectively.

The room was clean and spacious. We could not ask much more for for the price we paid! We were on the 5th floor and apparently the hotel has had new carpets throughout. Decor is a little dated, as with all middle of the road hotel chains, but is reasonably fresh. Our room had a window which we were trusted to open by ourselves, also a rarity in modern hotels. Air con in room also. All the usual facilities were present eg digital tv, tea and coffee, electric shaver point, real hairdryer, shampoo& shower gel, soap, telephone etc etc. The bathroom also had a bath with shower over which again is rare in modern hotels.

Breakfast was buffet style with a choice of full English (sausage, bacon, egg, beans, hash browns etc), cereal, fruit, pastries or toast. There was also a selection of hot and cold drinks.

Check in was straight forward, in at 14:00 and out at midday (again, quite good by modern hotel standards). The hotel held our bags as we arrived early.

We did not really encounter the staff but when checking in and out, plus at breakfast, they seemed helpful enough.

Wifi is £5 for an hour or £10 for 24 hours.

Overall, we were happy with the hotel considering the price we paid and couldn't really fault it for a short break. Excellent value.

Room Tip: Higher floors or rooms on canal side have less road noise

We needed a good location for an event at the Bridgewater Hall. This seemed ideal as it was right next door.
Despite some negative reports I have read, the location and accomodation could not have been bettered. On arrival the Reception Staff were all smiles and helpful. The room was initially rather chilly but a request to housekeeping provided not one, but two heaters, and helpful hints on the Aircon!
No problems from then. The breakfast was good and plentiful, but with no poached aggs - but that's my preference. Checkout was faultless.
Would we come back here in Manchester? - Yes, we would.

Second time staying here, booked 3 rooms for me and two clients. Checked in at 9pm by a pretty girl with glasses who didn't even look up from her computer at me, no hello, no welcome! Bad manners would be the best way to describe it. Went to bar to be greeted by a skin head barman in hobnail boots who told the 3 people waiting to be served that he wasn't "going to be a waiter" for 2 people who he served before us. Something seriously wrong with the HR manager in this place as these people shouldn't be front of house. Anyway, location is good, rooms are nice. Breakfast is decent with a nice hot buffet. I did meet a lovely reception manager the next day so not all is lost. I probably would stay again if staff were different.
