I've stayed here quite a few times now and have always found the reception staff friendly and the prices very reasonable for somewhere so comparatively central.

The standard rooms are compact (fine for one, two might be cosy) but well thought out and designed. Comfortable beds, nice thick curtains that really shut the light out. Not a whole load of storage space but adequate for a couple of days' stay. Each room has iron, ironing board and a fan as well as tea/coffee facilities.

Location is good - easily reached from Mancunian Way and a short walk from Picadilly station.

Nearby car park in Charles St is a bargain (currently £2 a day on Saturday and Sunday, otherwise up to £10 a day).

Having also stayed at the Charles St Ibis hotel, I much prefer Days Hotel.

The centre of Manchester has improved beyond recognition in the last 20 years or so. However, these changes mean that you might not recognise where you are. We walked from Piccadily Station towards 'student land' but when asking where the hotel was, people did not seem to know where it was. When we eventually arrived, the reason became obvious. There was a big sign showing 'Manchester Conference Centre' and a much smaller and rather innocuous looking 'Days Hotel' sign.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was small but perfectly formed, clean, tidy and ideal for a good night sleep. The buffet breakfast was suprisingly good. The cost of the prepaid room was very good value indeed. This is an ideal place for those who wish to be in good access of the city centre and station. Good eating facilities are a quick walk away.

Room Tip: Prepay and you will get the best deal

the days of me being a student have passed and staying in what seemed like university halls was an unwelcomed situation. Despite the layout, service is good, food was just about ok. reception staff were friendly and informative in giving directions.

We stayed in this hotel for one night last week after going to a gig at the O2 Apollo. It's less than 10 minutes walk from this venue & 5 mins from Piccadily station.
Check in staff were very pleasent & helpfull, yes the room we had was pretty small, with a double bed against one wall. But when your paying only £49.99, you think fair enough.. Posivite marks tho for the quality of the towels, real thick & big.. The carpet I also noticed was a lovely thick pile... the on-suite was compact and nicely done out, with a great shower.. nice bedroom furniture.. tea, coffee & biscuits in the room..
All in all, if the room was a little bigger, I'd give it a 5.

We stayed one night after a gig at the Apollo. The hotel is lovely and central which is a bonus. The rooms are tiny and ours was really warm, the desk fan provided didn't do much to cool it down, but in spite of this we would stay again. The staff alone made it a friendly and comfortable place.

Thank you for your kind comments, we look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the future. Your stay must have been in the unusually warm period we experienced here in Manchester, and I apologise if the room was slightly too warm, we do not have air conditioning unfortuately, however, do provide a fan as you mentioned.

I have passed you comments on to the staff and they will be delighted that they helped to make your stay enjoyable.

I booked this hotel to be near Manchester Piccadily Station as I had a bad leg (recent ruptured achilles tendon) and it was quite a walk with a bad leg and poor directions from the hotel web site! However the Hotel itself was good for a budget hotel. I booked two nights via lastminute website and received a very good room rate compared to other hotels I looked at.

The Breakfast was a very good buffet style breakfast, the food was very good and hot, the downside was the tea and coffee were from machines.

The Hotel was a little further awaythan I would have like for the tram and centre but I did have a bad leg!

Thanks for your feedback, I am sorry our directions were not clear enough for you. I have asked our front of house staff to review them. We are very close to the station, however, if the directions are not clear that will not have helped to get you here via the fastes route. Thank you for your feedback back, we will endeavout to make the directions clearer.

An excellently positioned hotel five minutes from Piccadilly, especially if at the conference centre (attached) or the university (fifteen minutes walk). The centre is also about fifteen minutes walk.
The local nightlife is near too. Canal Street is a few minutes away, chinatown ten minutes and real ale enthusiasts can reach the Briton's Protectorate in ten minutes.
As my visit was work related (honest) I was in the cheapest room. It was not particularly spacious and the limited TV channels not conducive to stopping in the room at night. The shower/toilet area was very cramped.
The changing of the room is top notch and cudos to the domestic staff (if you still call them that). Tea, coffee, milk, iron, fan, soap/shower gel/shampoo are all provided.
Breakfast was expensive and had its ups and downs. The variety was good - cold meat, smoked fish, cereal, porridge, fruit, toast, full english, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, croissants, pan au chololat, watermelon, melon, the list goes on and on. However, I wouldn't say the english was of a great quality as it is served over a number of hours. If buying your own breakfast, there are much better and cheaper local options for breakfast.
Manchester is getting pricey in the centre and this hotel reflects that, although it is one of the cheaper ones. So again, if on a budget look at the transport and maybe look further out of town. If determined to stop in the centre, you can certainly do worse though.
