I booked this for Manc Pride, late on for 3 nights, so paid a bit more than normal but it didn't disappoint. It's a few minutes from The Village and around 15 mins from the train station.
The reception staff were all very friendly and pleasant. There is a courtyard bar/ eatery which is lovely on sunny days.
The breakfast was amazing. It was a serve yourself and there was plenty of everything.
I booked a Classic Double room which was spacious and the bed was comfy. There was a shower over a bath, which flooded the floor a bit, but no great hardship. There was shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and hand wash by Gilchrist and Soames, which is quite an expensive brand and smells lush.
Plenty of drawer and hanger space and a full length mirror!
No air con but a large desk fan, which came in handy as it was a very warm weekend.
My friends had booked a 'compact' double, and it was very compact and stifling. Ok for one at a push but I was glad I had booked the bigger room.
Only complaint was other guests leaving their room doors to slam shut as opposed to closing it. Woke me up every night but this isn't the a fault of the hotel.
Definitely will return.
The pendulum in the centre is mesmerising. I could have watched it for ever.
Mayra on reception is a gem.More
