The Castlefield is a down to earth, friendly, budget hotel with helpful staff and a casual environment. Great location for Deansgate pubs, bars and clubs and close to the tram to Old Trafford for the cricket.

The hotel rooms are reasonable size, good value and worth putting up with the need for a refurb for the convenience and cost.

Dear Andy, Thanks for the review and the comments therein. As you say, we are well located for central Manchester being just 400 metres from Deansgate and with easy access to the Metro for links to the sporting stadia of the city. Glad you found the hotel value for money and, as you appreciate, this aspect allied to the facilities provided is important to many.Trust you enjoyed the cricket even though you were on 'foreign' ground coming from God's county!

This hotel is very handy if you are visiting the Coronation Street Set and also for the Museum of Science and Industry (free entry and well worth a visit). Clean rooms with adequate facilities. Car parking on site, which is a plus with a city centre hotel. Yes you have to pay a car parking fee, but it is worth it to have the car close by. The Sunday lunch is well recommended - very tasty and and well priced. We had no problem at all with noise, despite our stay being over a bank holiday. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. We have just booked again for the August Bank Holiday, and look forward to our stay.

Many thanks for your feedback and so glad you enjoyed so many aspects of your stay. As you say, the provision of a reasonably priced on site car park in a city centre hotel is a benefit. We look forward to welcoming you back over the Bank Holiday weekend

Stayed for one night as we had booked the Coronation St. tour which was a few minutes walk from hotel. If you ask for a room overlooking the canal its a nice view. Good clean room with everything you need including tea/coffee making facility and very comfortable huge bed. Staff very helpful and friendly and bar prices not too hefty. The only downsides were that the lovely breakfast was not included in price and you have to pay to use their car park. If you fancy a workout or a swim they have a very good fitness club.

Room Tip: Third floor room 313 has good canal view

Ewery, thank you for the feedback and glad you found the location convenient for the Corrie tour and the Museum of Science & Industry.Having investigated the bathroom odour. It is due to the air handling system having cut out. This has now been repaired and the issue resolved.Apologies for the disappointment experienced.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful, from the gentleman that checked us in right through to the lady at breakfast. The room was clean and had everything we needed including an iron and ironing board, yes we did hear party revellers walking past the hotel in the early hours but it is a city centre location so it is to be expected. The only downside was there was a mildew smell in the bathroom, the bathroom had no windows so perhaps could benefit from an extractor fan. Breakfast was lovely and they catered for vegetarians aswel which was great. Beautiful canalside location, and i would book here again
