Owner description: The Museum of Science and Industry sits in the heart of Manchester, the world's first industrial city. It houses the world's oldest surviving passenger railway station and the world's first railway warehouse from 1830, which are located at the end of the museum site. On a visit to the museum, you will see amazing objects and learn about the men and women whose ideas changed the world forever. Daily demonstrations bring the museum's world class collection of textile and industrial machinery to life. There are interactive exhibits to explore and a regular programme of changing exhibitions to enjoy.

Excellent place to take older kids (ones with us were 8and 10).they loved it and so did we. The place is quite huge and divided into sections so expect to spend at least one full day here and preferably allocate two days to view it all at leisure

There's plenty to do and see, its free. You can spend a good few hours taking in all the fascinating facts and interesting history. I had a great time with friends, it's a great place to visit especially if you're new to Manchester, or a tourist, it's a brilliant way to learn about a bit of history and culture. Well worth the visit.

Almost too big to go round in a day, but has lots for all ages to do and see. When you consider there is no charge it could not be better.

MOSI is a superb venue and a perfect day out for the family, friends or couples. There is plenty to see and do whilst you are there. The aeroplane exhibition is first class and a fantastic collection.

A previous business of mine also hired the whole venue out for a private party which was an amazing success and such a quirky venue.

Well worth a visit if you are in manchester or stuck with something to do locally.
