“Lovely atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014 via mobile

Went to the Molly house with husband after reading reviews about it on here. Wanted to try somewhere a bit different and it didn't disappoint. Tucked away at the back of canal st. Its a lovely little place. The ground floor bar is quite cozy. The bar staff very friendly. Upstairs is another larger bar with comfy sofas and a small outside veranda. The drinks prices are on par for the area. They have a good list of cocktails. Will definitely be calling in again

“Awesome tapas, tasty beer!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2013

Came for a tapas lunch, left very satisfied!
The tapas are really well-cooked - just-ready prawns, tender chicken in a gorgeous chimmichurri sauce, fresh empanadas - and the portion size was impressive! Used to smaller, fiddly London tapas, we completely over ordered but it was worth the stuffed tummies!
A few good real ales on tap and some great bottled beers rounded off a lovely lunch...thanks guys! Would highly recommend.

“Food needs some love”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 September 2013

Partner and I had vegetarian platter to share. It should have been called stodge and salt platter to share. The bread is more like a bun and the rest is just swimming in fat. Not good, we both had belly cramps afterward and we only ate a little.
On the plus side the bar is lovely and the drinks are good

“Beer and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2013

First popped into the Molly House a couple of weeks ago as it seemed to be the only place in the village not jam packed. Don't get me wrong it is often quite full !

It was a hidden gem and has now become the one place in the village I must visit on a night out.

It's the beer. They have some fantastic craft beers as well as the usual ones. The prices are not the cheapest but as I don't go out to get drunk, I prefer the nicer beer but fewer of them.

I haven't tried the food yet.

the staff are friendly and if you're not sure of what beer you'd like they will let you sample a few of them.

The general atmosphere is pretty mixed both gay and straight, and is mostly the bar where people congregate before going on elsewhere later in the evening. That said there are still quite a few people in there late on.

The kitchen isn't open all night.

One big advantage is the music isn't too loud so you are able to talk with friends and on the first floor for those who smoke there is a balcony outside.
