On a rather desolate, semi-industrial road not far from Manchester City Centre stands the old Spanish and Portuguese Synagogue now the Manchester Jewish Museum (see photo).
While, realistically, unnoticed by most travellers; if you have the slightest interest in the Jewish history of Manchester or have family connections there do visit this lovely little place.
The staff (volunteers) are from the local Jewish community and are very friendly and informative - I could have spent hours there chatting and having all my questions answered!
