“Decent cheap hotel”
Reviewed 28 February 2014

Went to a gig at the 02 Apollo & stayed here. Very cheap but decent size room, clean and modern. In a great location for going out and would definitely return if I need to stopover in Manchester centre again.

Stayed recently for concert at MEN.. Initially felt it was out if way but was fine only 15 min walk. On the doorstep to china town and Canal Street. Great location really.
Staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Parking across the road is 10 for 24hrs and it's secure. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Will definitely use again

Stayed here as we were going to a concert at the O2 Apollo. Stayed 2 nights in room 204. The hotel was clean, bedrooms had everything you need. Could of done with a plug socket maybe near the mirror. Shower was good & powerful. Beds very comfy. If you don't like too much noise from 12.30 am - 5.30 am on a Friday & Saturday night, then maybe you might need a room higher up as there is a club right outside on Princess Street. It didn't bother us, could be worse if it had been summer & window open. Didn't have breakfast, but it seemed busy. Would stay again as it's near everything you want, shops, restaurants, nightlife & concert venues.

Very good value for money. Staff very pleasant. Clean room. Bed very comfy. Thought this hotel was a good location and ideally situated for going to the Manchester Academy which was within walking distance.

As with Ryanair, when you pay a really good price, you can't complain it's not a luxurious experience. I booked in advance and got a room for £25. Hotel and the room had a feeling of being a bit unloved, but the staff were friendly enough and en suite bathroom was new with a good shower. £8 extra for a full breakfast is reasonable. Rating is for value more than any other factor. Wasn't noisy when I went but weekends may be different.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room, worked for me.

Clean and confortable enough, breakfast okay, service okay but nothing special. However, hardly slept due to the noise from other people right up to 5 a.m. - shouting and abusive language in the corrider (our room was near to the lift). Just not acceptable. £49 per room was more than enough to pay.

Stayed at the Ibis in Princess Street for one night on business. Pretty central - within about 10 mins walk of Piccadilly, but it was late at night so I got a cab at a reasonable fare. There is also a Metro bus which stops nearby.
Venue is very convenient for the main University of Manchester building (a few mins walk up the road).
Hotel provides basic accommodation for a night's stay, although I was particularly impressed by the size of the bed. Breakfast is standard buffet fare.
I do have a niggle that there is no room service. As a single female traveller, I tend to use room service quite a bit,as I prefer not to javedinner on my own in restaurants. I coped OK with collecting a tray from the ground floor and taking it to my room, but I'm not sure others would.
