Booked as a last minute for £49, through accorhotels.com. This was the usual fare from ibis, smaller than most i've stayed in,, the shower was nice and bathroom/toilet split as from a french design hotel.
Its just up the road from chinatown and across the way from the novotel, which you can use their gym is you are staying at the ibis,, according to reception..
Room was a little warm when I stayed, everything worked fine,,

My Boyfriend and I decided to stay here when we were going to The Warehouse Project as it was the cheapest place we could find last minute. The room was fairly standard, which is acceptable as its not exactly the Hilton, however the decor and standard was much higher than a Travelodge. We stayed on the 4th floor, had no noise apart from some from the street outside.
From our hotel we walked to the Arndale Cente, The Printworks and to The Warehouse Project which is under Picadilly station. In the area there are a number of bars, restaurants and fast food places, which is good if your having a late night!
Staff were so helpful when we asked for directions and one even remembered we were going to the warehouse project and asked us if we had had a good time there when we stumbled in at 4am.
We didnt have the breakfast or any of the food that is served 24hrs but had a drink in the bar downstairs which is priced like everywhere else! There is also a discount available from the hotel if you stay in one of the listed carparks.

Just to visit mates up in Manchester I thought i'd try an IBIS rather than crashing uncomfortably on someone's couch, and it was quite nice. Their pricing means it makes more sense to go as a couple but it does at least do what it says on the tin. I'd probably stay again if as a couple as you know what you're getting

Stayed over night here last night for shopping and a concert at the MEN arena. The hotel is easy to find from Piccadilly station and is a short walk to the shops and the arena.
We were able to check in immediately upon arrival at around 12.15pm and the lady at check-in was polite and courteous. Our twin bedded room was clean and tidy. The pod style bathroom has a good sized shower and mirror that is is great for putting your make up on (not always the case with the budget hotels) and the beds themselves were very comfortable. I can't comment on any food as we had room only. We, like others, did get a knock on our door from housekeeping at a little past 9am but this was our own fault having forgotten to put the 'do not disturb' sign out.
The room faced the road and was noisy when the window was open but not too bad when it was shut. However, it wasn't the traffic that disturbed our sleep but the strange 'gurgling' sound from the bathroom. It sounded as if everyone's waste pipes in the rooms above came down through our bathroom and as the door couldn't be completely shut it kept waking us up during the night. All in all it wouldn't put me off staying again and I was more than happy with the comfy room for the price we paid.

A typical IBIS I'm sure, but I was shocked to find the public corridors smelling strongly of stale tobacco. Even after complaining on check-in at lunchtime, the smell was worse that evening.

Feels like a University hall of residence to me. Everything in the room seems a bit cheap and basic. Some of the staff at reception seem not too interested in being overly helpful. Room very small and gloomy, with a view of the air conditioning units. I usually stay at Premier Inn and find them much better, but I wanted a hotel reasonably walkable from the railway station. It's cheap, but not that cheerful.
