Stayed here on monday night in room 116. It was easy to find and had a secure carpark. Check in was easy with a friendly helpful receptionist.

Room was a good size with a good shower. Maybe could have done with a reseal but it was far better than travelodge's showers!
Room had a tv and hairdryer and a very comfitable mattress on the bed. Breakfast was fine. What a bargain!

Must say, as we forgot on check out to tell the staff but there is a very loud rumbling noise coming from somewhere near our room. Kind of sounds like an empty kettle or boiler overheating. Kept me awake bit can't really complain as we never told the hotel so they didn't have the chance to rectify it.

Would stay again.

This hotel is very well situated on all main bus routes into Manchester.
The standard of decor and comfort is very good - the rooms are well appointed and there is a nice bar/restaurant to relax in.
The breakfast is wonderful with lots of choice.
All in all I would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a short stay.

Room Tip: Stairs to third floor a bit difficult with heavy luggage.

was here for pride 2011 weekend fri-mon, checked in reception staff where fine, polite and efficient.checked into room 225 was here of all 5 mins and i couldnt handle the stale oil/curry smell coming from the bedding and the room,my partner opened the window to air the room and was hit with the smell even worse, our room was above the extractor outlets for the kitchen!! i also thought id give the bed a check and there was all blood on the divan base and also all over the chair at the desk, i went down to reception and explained and the nice girl moved us to room 303, this room was ok,bathroom was clean but beds omg!! may aswell been sleeping on a concrete slab with 1 wafer pillow (no spares in room) and to top it off there was no valance on the divan base and the base was exposed, it was vile and had all blood splattered on it and was also all ripped!! so i proceeded to get in my car and drive to tesco and buy a duvet and pillows for me and my partner.
The next day our friend joined us and i couldnt believe it when the same receptionist booked our friend into room 225!! the one we had moved from...my friend complained and was told that the hotel was full and so she couldnt move to a different room so she just stayed in out twin room.
The only decent thing was the breakfast was ok except kitchen staff seem slow on re stocking stuff like bacon.
I know the diamond lodge is a budget hotel but it should advertise being similar to travel inn etc as it isnt its poor and i would never reccommend staying there, not even for a night!!!

The hotel is no more than a 10 minute train ride from the city centre and the station is a 5 minute walk away. There are also plenty of buses nearby. It is conveniently situated across the road from the Belle Vue stadium and there is a multiplex cinema close by. The accommodation is basic, but has everything you need. There is a pleasant cafe/bar and meals are served in the evening. There is also a TV lounge area and an outside courtyard.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was good, with a good range of the usual breakfast items. We ate our evening meals in the hotel on both nights of our stay and found the fare to be enjoyable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt it to be excellent value. We would certainly stay there again if we are in the area.

We stayed at Diamond Lodge for two nights to attend a family wedding. We basically needed a bed and bathroom so this hotel met that need and was in close proximity to where we needed to be. Staff were friendly. The breakfast was good.
