We have stayed here quite a few times when attending Belle Vue Dog Racing Stadium which is right across the road. The hotel is excellent value for the money. A double room on a Saturday night cost £50 and included a buffet breakfast which was delicious. The hotel is very clean and all the staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are spacious and have all the essentials, such as televisions and hair dryers. there is also an Ironing Room if needed. it is an ideal location for anyone wishing to go to Belle Vue Stadium, The Cycle Velodrome of Manchester City's Ground. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would certainly recommend it.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on 23rd February 2013 as we were going to Belle Vue Dog Racing Stadium for the evening. This hotel is perfectly situated immediately across the road from the Dog Racing Stadium.

Check in to the hotel was smooth, friendly and efficient and the hotel also has Sky Sports available in the main bar area. The room was basic but clean and the bed extremely firm and we had a good nights sleep. The room was cold and took a while to warm up as the key fob also doubles up as the access to electricity so we were unable to leave the electric radiator on when not in the room. There are also tea and coffee facilities in the room.

The bar area is open plan and quite attractive but the drinks were on the expensive side however this is only to be expected in any hotel. The breakfast was very average – full English, cerials, fruit juice, fruit etc but no fried eggs!

This is classed as a 2 star hotel and it is probably worth 2+ stars. Very clean and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Considering that this was £50 for the two of us with breakfast this hotel was fine. There was lots of free parking and the receptionist was really friendly and helpful.

We were on the ground floor and there was some road noise and sirens but this didn't stop me from getting to sleep.

The rooms were clean and tidy for the most part, although tired and dated with bits of wallpaper ripped here and there. The cups hadn't been cleaned but I just washed them out in the bathroom. The room was pretty big actually compared to other budget hotels I have stayed in, with wardrobe and drawer space and a long desk. There was also a hairdryer and full length mirror. The tv worked fine and the free wifi was a bonus.

The bathroom was clean and a really good size. The shower didn't look like it would be up to much but it was amazing, like a power shower and really warm as well.

Breakfast on the Sunday was served until 10.30am and there was a good choice with yogurts, cereals and rolls as well as cooked breakfast items. It was self service and the hot food was luke warm or cold but then it was quite busy and lids were being kept up. There were no clean tables either so we had to pick the least messy.

It was really well situated for Manchester with a bus stop right outside the hotel. It was £3.90 for a daytripper ticket and the buses ran until 4am. we went in and out of Manchester twice on the tickets so that was really good value and it was about a ten minute ride into the centre. The buses ran around every five mins and were frequent on the Sunday as well.

All in all this is a good budget hotel for a short stay. A short walk up the road is an Aldi, a Tesco Express and a KFC, which we used to get some drinks for our room. I wouldn't want to stay much longer than a night and wouldn't feel comfortable wandering around the area on my own after dark........looked a bit ropey.

Had a great stay here with my wife last year, and we booked in again this year when we were visiting friends. Lovely place and the staff are brilliant,

We would both definitely recommend it if you need a cheap place to stay, as it is very close to all amenities!

Stayed at the Diamond Lodge Manchester on Mon.4 Feb. and delighted with with all aspects of the hotel. Rooms well presented and clean with decent tv,free wi-fi , good breakfast inc. In price but above all superb customer care by the gentleman on duty. I really do feel that this has a nice family run business feel. Some of the larger hotel chains could learn a lot from this business! Just one thing to note it is on a very busy road into Manchester so expect some traffic noise but it is only a short bus ride to the city centre

Stayed on Sat 12 Jan when there was a large party of Man. Utd. fans from Ireland staying.
They spent the entire night rampaging up & down corridors, constantly shouting & banging on doors.
This went on until 6.30am & my son & I got no sleep whatever.
The management did absolutely nothing to calm the situation down.
I contacted the director of the hotel by E-mail upon returning home, but have not had the courtesy of a reply or acknowledgment from him to date.

Room Tip: Stay away during the football season. Hotel has no lift so request a ground floor room if you have...

We stayed here for 5 nights while viewing properties for our impending move to manchester. The staff couldn't have been more helpful at all times, laughing and joking at any time of the day, or night! the food we had was excellent and the included breakfast buffet complete with full English was exceptional everyday. The room itself was clean functional and warm. The reception area was great with a large HD TV showing all sports or whatever you asked for. A nice mix of people using the place from businessman, truckers, football groups and holidaymakers. My only complaint is the area surrounding it was a bit of a dive, but that is no fault of the hotel. Seeing the owner of the Hotel doing her morning work then even chipping in by filling up the vending mahcines gave this place a nice famiy feel as well. A definate return venue for us both. Thankyou all!
