Stayed for valentines day, very impressed with location and quality of the rooms, check in was excellent the receptionist with blond hair made me feel very welcome, however we decided to leave at 2.30am and the night team took 25 mins to check me out, which I thought was to long as I had already prepaid, I may be too critical. but a bit of personality goes a long way

Dear SteveParky

Thank you very much for your recent stay and wonderful feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay and found that a member of my team was very helpful during your check-in. I am very sorry to hear that check-out took a long time and I am currently investigating into this matter. It would be very helpful if you could provide me with your confirmation number or reservation name so that I can locate and offer extra training to the team member involved. You can contact me by email at chris.moore@hixmanchester.com

Thank you once again and we hope to see you again in the near future.

Best Regards

Chris

yes the idea of a "northern quarter" in a northern city did strike me as odd but suffice to say its a great area and this hotel is well placed to allow you to enjoy it.
the hotel overall was clean and well set out, the rooms werent overly noisey but importantly they were spacious (more so if you get stuck in a disabled room as despite booking 4 months in advance the rooms were all sold!). The staff however were nice and helpful, however the same could not be said of the Wifi! After travelling all over the world i do not understand why hotels in this country still offer such poor service when it comes to wifi, then have the nerve to charge you to upgrade to a better service (or in some cases charge for it full stop) and yet the "better service" is no better. Holiday inn if the american and canadian arms of your company can do it for free why cant you?
the hotel is great for most things but if you need wifi you may struggle :(

Room Tip: anything on the 4th floor up is best to avoid road and building noise from next door.

Overnight for a re-union with friends. Perfect budget style hotel for those occasions that you will only really use the room to sleep in. Clean, well maintained and little extras such as convenient taxi service, good bar and free good quality breakfast. Definitely recommend.

It is a modern well appointed hotel with everything needed for an overnight stay. Everywhere is clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated with fluffy towels and big walk in powerful shower. BUT the pillows are hard and lumpy even though they say soft on some of them and the doors are set to close noisily even though you try to do it quietly leading to disrupted sleep when people come to bed late. I suggest testing the pillows early so that you could ask at the reception for replacements or take your own! Breakfast is more than adequate with enough choice in buffet style. The hotel is within walking distance of the Printworks, bus station, Arndale Centre and National Football Museum.

Upon entering, I was greeted by a pleasant receptionist.
Thanks to a review here, I knew to ask for a discounted rate from the hotel for the car park at the offset (£4.50 for 24hrs) - which is about 2 minutes walk from the hotel entrance. The receptionist offered a map to it, as well as offering further navigational literature.
My expectation of a Holiday Inn room is one of cleanliness, good standard of decor and enough floor space for me to practice yoga - if I decided to take it up - and that's what I received when presented with room 124 (double room with couch).
Unfortunately, I later found out around 7pm that the heating facility to be working intermittently. Chris promptly answered at reception and offered, and delivered, a more than adequate heater within a few minutes with a short explanation and further apologies.
Housekeeping were also very efficient - I had not left from the night before until 2.30pm the following afternoon and upon returning at 4.45pm was greeted by everything having been freshened up/cleaned/replaced for me.
I was prepared against the possible Wi-Fi shortfall so it was not a hindrance to me, but did try it at different times regardless and found the speed to fluctuate.
I never eat breakfast at hotels so unfortunately could not comment on this besides free breakfast available until 10 or so.
In summary, an excellent stay which I would repeat and recommend!

Room Tip: The window at room 124 faces to the northeast (towards Swan Street) and the room itself is far from...

Lovely hotel. Modern reception area and 'great room' perfect for work or family gatherings. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds, modern clean bathrooms. Great breakfast (lots of naysayers don't seem to be impressed, but there is a great selection for no additional cost) Free wifi is a nice touch. Staff are very nice as well.

This hotel is centrally located in Manchester. The room was comfortable, clean and a good quality holiday inn. There is a large window that looked out over a pleasant square. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: High floor rooms have the best views.
