“Amazing Value for it's Location and Quality of Rooms”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

We were staying in Manchester for the Dolly Parton Concert at the Arena. This hotel was just a short walk away, which suited us brilliantly. They give you the post code and address of the car park, which makes the journey really easy and at £5.00 for 24 hours good value. The reception was pleasant and efficient. The room and shower room was a shock, it was incredible for the price. It was very clean with everything you need for the night. The shower room was fantastic, a big enclosed shower that was so clean it looked brand new. Nice big towels of good quality, tissues and massive mirror which didn't steam up. Be aware that the lighting takes time to brighten up. The bed was so comfortable and there were soft or firm pillows, also a sign saying that if you had forgotten anything like razors, tooth brushes etc just contact reception and they will bring them up to you. There is a bar downstairs and the breakfast is sufficient to set you up for the day, although it was busy there were staff making coffees, teas and putting out fruit juice for customers. I had never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before but if they are all like this they will be my 'premier' choice from now on!

The hotel is situated near the city centre and is easy to walk to. The hotel is clean and good value for money on the day we went. Parking was not too great but an area away from the hotel (not to far away).

Nice rooms, clean hotel, friendly staff, great location for arena/etihad/printworks. As others have said the free wifi is useless and the open air car park a worry! Breakfast was not the best but I would fully recommend this hotel!

Location is very near to Arndale shopping center. Check-in was quick.
Room was better than typical Holiday inn express with Floor to ceiling windows, and bath cabin with a door (instead of curtains). Rate was better than other similar hotels.
Normal internet however was almost non-functional. However if you spend 4.5 GBP in hotel bar, you get free high speed internet. Air conditioning was a bit slow.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with floor to ceiling windows!

So stayed here whilst attending Manchester for business. The location is good with close proximity to the Printworks and northern quarter. I agree with others that the parking is linked with an open air car park, so if you drive a more expensive car you may want to consider a local multi-storey.

The room was decent. 6th Floor was quiet. The shower only had lukewarm water. The wifi was slow and checking emails took a long time. The breakfast had three hot items and some cold items, reasonable but again have had better in other chain hotels. Altogether a reasonable inexpensive place to stay but do not expect any luxuries.

Room Tip: As high as possible

Thank you for your feedback. I am happy to hear that you found well located and at a good price. I am sorry to hear that the water was not hot during your visit. I have not had any reports of an issues with the water, but like all properties it can happen on very rare occasions, its possible the boilers would have just needed to be reset. the free Wi-Fi is just for browsing emails and for general use, We offer a Premium Wi-Fi package for £4.50 for 24 hours. However if you reported that you were having issues with the free Wi-Fi we would have provided you with the upgrade for free. I hope that the few little issues you had will not stop you from returning to our hotel again in the future. Best Regards

Generally good, clean, staff very good, excellent location for walking to the city centre, quiet, Spar shop nearby for supplies.

couple of points :-

Would be nice if they had a discount parking arrangement with the NCP Printworks, I didnt really fancy leaving my car in an open car park over a few nights so had to pay a lot more for the security of the NCP

Breakfast is basic but adequate although the apple juice was so weak I wouldn't have known what it was supposed to be if you'd blindfolded me and as someone else mentioned there is no bacon

The sofa bed was broken so could not be used

The window could not be opened so having the quite noisy air con on was the only means of cooling the room

There was no bath

On balance I would consider staying here again

Thank you for choosing our hotel for your previous trip to Manchester and for your honest feedback. I am happy to read that in most parts you enjoyed your stay and you would choose to stay with us again in the future. We use Euro Car Parks as they are the cheapest for the surrounding area. We have used Euro Car Parks for over a year and not had any reported break-ins. NCP car parking would not be provided with a discount meaning our guests would still pay £15 for 24hrs. We made the decision that Euro Car Parks would best suited our guests needs being much closer and at only £4.50 for 24hrs. I am sorry if the apple juice was weak, it would have just needed to new carton, the breakfast staff would have changed it over a soon as they where made aware. No Holiday Inn Express properties provide bacon, all properties provide a continental breakfast and 3 hot option comprised of scrambled egg, baked beans and sausages. I am also sorry if the sofa bed was broken. We only make up the sofa bed if requested prior to booking. We do have a broken sofa bed which will be replaced shortly, we do not allocated guests in this room if they have requested for the sofa bed to be made up and the sofa can still be used as normal. Once again thank you for your feedback and I hope my comments made some of the issues a little more clearer. Best Regards
