“Nice room let down by staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014 via mobile

Firstly the room was mostly clean and fresh. Hotel is in a good location and is well priced for midweek stays. We had a quiet stay and couldn't complain at all about the room. The staff however were not the friendliest or most helpful. We were also constantly asked at breakfast whether we had prepaid (which we had) even though we had already informed reception. In short, nice room but customer service could be a lot better.

Hotels location is great, lots of shops and bars around. Comfy beds and clean rooms in general. However most of the staff we had to deal with were very rude and simply didn't care. We've been ignored a few times simply because they were having non work related conversations among themselves.

The staff are rude, aggressive, insulting and unhelpful. I felt like I was constantly being bullied. They shouted and insulted me, completely unprovoked. They acted as if customers were a insect infestation that needed to be stamped out. I'd sooner sleep on the street than experience this horrific treatment again! AVOID!

We travelled to Manchester with our daughter as she was attending an interview at Manchester University. We needed somewhere local to stay, and were delighted to find this Travelodge right on the doorstep.

On site car parking at no additional cost was a great bonus, and was reassuringly secure as the exit needed a pin code obtainable only from the reception desk.

The staff were helpful on arrival and ensured that we had everything we needed, and explained how to find our way around.

The room was a good standard and was well equipped, especially I ally given the super low budget price we paid.

The whole point of staying over was so that we would start the next day refreshed, so we opted to eat in the on site restaurant and get an early night.

The menu had a variety of options available and we were able to find something to suit everyone. Being at the front if the hotel, it was a little chilly with the front doors opening as more guests arrived, but this didn't detract from our overall enjoyment.

Breakfast was a typical standard buffet, the food was of a good standard and there was plenty of choice coveting everything from cereals and yogurts to a full English breakfast. Staff were quick to clear the tables which kept the flow of people moving in a clean and tidy environment.

My daughter passed her interview, so we've already booked for the day we will take her start her course, and I've no doubt we will use the same Travelodge in future when we visit.

Highly recommended - Good Value and a Great Location

I have been staying at this hotel for a week on my business trip.
Hotel looks quite newly built from outside and inside. Hotel staff was very friendly and really helpful. Room was very clean, bed comfortable and simple, very good breakfast. Also I had dinner there twice; pub style menu, but tasty if you do not want to go out into the town.
No disappointment at all, left very satisfied. I will definitely stay here
again next time

I stayed here whilst attending a conference at the University (5-10 minutes walk away. I've stayed here before and it has undergone some refurbishment. My room had a wonderfully thick mattress and four decent pillows already inside. Breakfast was included in my deal and was very good. Thoroughly recommended and a bargain at under £27 per night.

Travelodge has evidently, recently undergone refurbishment. There beds are to die for, so thick and comfortable as they have recently purchased some dream sleeper beds ( or something like that). my room was big , clean and comfortable. The shower was powerful and set at just the right temperature. The customer service was great too. One of the receptionists, i believe is called aseem ( asian chap) was particularly helpful and friendly, constantly asking if i needed anything and if there was anything he could do to make my stay more enjoyable/ comfortable. He has left a lasting impression on me .
I would definitely recommend this to anyone needing a place to stay in and around central manchester.
