“Head office visit to Manchester”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

I had to go to my work places head office for 2 days and the only hotel available at the time of booking was the Travelodge - how was i to know the "Kings of Leon" were playing at the arena that night!!! I didn't hear a thing from the concert but there was allot of traffic parking nearby, but that didn't bother me to be honest.
As always Travelodge enabled me to sleep soundly on a wonderful mattress and the shower room was basic but functional.
Good location for the arena and shopping plus there was a car park at the rear of the hotel, it was chargeable but wasn't expensive.
All in all a good trip and i would go back to the same hotel again.

Stayed for one night at the weekend. As most Travelodges / Premier Inns there were groups of friends staying (hen parties etc). There was no issues at all. The hotel looks as though it's been decorated recently, rooms small but adequate for one night. It was a little warm in the room but window opened cooled it down! There's a car park right next door, cost £9.50 for overnight. About 10 min walk to Printworks. We were lucky as it wasn't raining! The bar area was ok, fine for a quick drink before heading out. I would stay here again if out with the girls.

Good for a night or two when visiting Manchester and your'e after a budget hotel. I was rather disconcerted when on arrival I was given a key only to find the room already occupied but after that early hiccup things were okay.

Its the usual Travelodge offering of very basic room and not a lot else.....although I did have a reasonable breakfast the next morning. Not much in the immediate vicinity to tempt you in terms of eating places but walk for about 10 mins into the centre of town - at one end of Deansgate - and you'll find a plethora of dining opportunities plus all the shops.

A decent night's sleep for not much money.

Stayed here for one night to see a show at the arena. When we got to our room it was a small double when we had booked a family room. Also only half a toilet roll in the bathroom. Went to complain at reception and someone else was complaining there was no toilet roll in their bathroom. Mentioned about the fact we had booked a family room to be told its standard if there are only two guest to put them in a double room even when you have paid for a family room. Got room changed to the last family room which was on 5th floor. New room had no toiletries in it, not even hand soap and the bin still had rubbish in from the last guests. Room was so hot it was unbearable. Shower was awful and had to basically stand up against the wall to get the water on you, then it flooded the bathroom. I know Travelodge is very basic but would not stay here again, not even for one night.

I've stayed here on many occasions when going to concerts at the Manchester Arena as it is ideally located. Whilst the rooms are very basic, no hairdryers ladies, they are clean and the beds are very comfortable. The staff ate extremely helpful and friendly. We got a great deal on the room rate. My only criticism would be the lack of bar staff when everyone heads back to the hotel post concert. Apart from that, brilliant!!

Went to Manchester for a hen party!!! Good location. Rooms were clean, tidy and spacious BUT rooms were to hot even with radiator unplugged. Windows only open an inch due to a window restriction in place. It was uncomfortable heat and difficult to get ready and sleep due to the temperature. Have been to other chain hotels and they offer air conditioned rooms and this would of been very useful in thos case. We booked 9 rooms altogether and everyone had the same issue. When booking with travelodge again I would make prior enquires about windows and air conditioning.

Just booked a single night's stay at the Travelodge as we had tickets for Cirque du Soleil at the Arena. The room was clean & tidy and offered the facilities you need, shower and coffee making.
The problem was the room was so hot and there's no air-con so you have to open the window to try and cool it down. The window only opens a few inches and then you get constant ingress of traffic noise so we didn't sleep very well.
Bathroom also seemed to have a leak as all the floor was wet when we got up in the morning.
Great price for the standard of room but in warm weather in future I'll pay more to stay somewhere with air con.
