Owner description: Manchester’s Chinatown is one of the largest outside of China. It’s home to shopping and restaurants and is the center of the city’s Chinese community.

My partner and I were staying in a hotel just around the corner and accidentally passed this incredibly beautiful place. We found it very intriguing and welcoming. Excellent piece of Chinese culture.

You can't beat a good Chinatown, with the hustle & bustle, the fantastic smells coming from the numerous Chinese restaurants & great Chinese supermarkets.
Needed to stock up on Chinese ingredients for my store cupboard at home. Loads cheaper than getting from normal supermarket & lots of unusual stuff that's hard to source normally. Found a Thai supermarket with fresh Kaffir Lime leaves, Holy Basil & Green Papaya!

Manchester's Chinatown has been around since the early 1970's.I think it is smaller than Liverpool's Chinatown which has become dilapidated over the years.Manchester Chinatown is
small and compact with enough shops, Chinese supermarkets book and crafts shops, newspapers, pastries, cakes, a good few restaurants, a pub, hairdressers, Thai food shops and lap dance bar and a casino.
Restaurants which have now closed down are THE NEW HONG KONG, PAN ASIA and THE INTERNATIONAL.One of them is being turned into a betting shop.
There is a lovely Chinese cafe where they hang delicious Peking roast duck and char siu, (bbq roast pork glazed with honey) in the window. It serves no nonsense homely Chinese food served with pots of steaming jasmine tea!
Next to it is a state of the art conveyor belt sushi bar.
So this Chinatown offers enough for the paying public.
