Visited from Canada and it's well worth the journey. Couldn't believe I found Oasis "(What's the Story) Morning Glory" LP plus two rare Eric Prydz vinyls. Could've bought much more but unfortunately went on my last day visiting and didn't have much more to spend :( Staff was extremely helpful and selection of vinyl from alternative to dance to hip hop to various Manchester bands was unreal. Prices a bit expensive but there was vinyl I've never seen before so hard to judge price. Definitely worth the trip.

It's always great to find a shop selling good vinyl these days. Unfortunately my visit was ruined by a rude, patronising salesperson who I'm pretty sure was the owner or manager. I was so excited to discover this place, but his attitude put me off returning for good! Not the best way to encourage custom

I think the 2 star review of Vinyl Exchange is inaccurate and unfair. You'll find some new stuff there but it specializes in secondhand and promos. Agreed it's not pretty but why look for that in an independent music retailer? Go to HMV (if you can find one) for that! Vinyl Exchange is quirky, edgy and unique. The staff are hugely knowledgeable and very friendly, there's always music playing some of which you'll like, some you might not and some you'll find intriguing. The stock of vinyl, CD and DVD is huge and well organised by genre and alphabet. I've been buying there for years and occasionally selling to them. It's in the centre of Manchester, close to lots of other indie shops and eateries. If there's one place I just have to visit when in Manchester it's Vinyl Exchange.

More reminiscing of the once student days. I was a regular here buying second hand CDs, they are still here although in less numbers and there are also DVDs. Downstairs you will find vinyls and it seems to have had more customers downstairs which never used to be the case.

In the days of digital downloads you do fear that this type of shop is endangered.
