Stayed for one night recently, having used the Radisson Blu chain elsewhere...bit of a queue at check-in, and there are lots of sofas in front of the reception desk, so the queue started trailing back to the door at a strange angle. The receptionist was very pleasant though, gave plenty of information, and coped well when her computer had an IT glitch.
The room itself was lovely, very comfortable bed, nice wet room with shower and bath - nice to have a shaving mirror in the shower!
We used the Steak and Lobster restaurant, where you can have a full lobster or rib-eye steak for £17.00, including sides (but not the accompanying sauce), - the steaks were excellent, although add three drinks and one dessert and the bill soared to £80.00. The service was a little slow, but very friendly and polite. Likewise the breakfast consisted of the usual buffet choice (very nice, fresh food) and also the a la carte menu (excellent porridge!!), but still seemed a little steep at nearly £20.00 each.
The highlight of the stay was the spa - I didn't have any treatments or use the gym, but I was lucky enough to have the lovely pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room to myself. All very clean, and very relaxing. Unfortunately, later in the evening, I released that I'd left my glasses in the changing room locker, but mentioned it to the receptionist, and the glasses were waiting for me the next morning at the reception desk.
Overall, the receptionists, concierge, spa and restaurant/bar staff were very friendly, helpful and made the stay complete. I'd definitely stay again. Oh - and the decor and lighting was amazing - we particularly liked the giant cockerel by the side entrance!!

I stayed on Sat 24 May, with my daughter on our first visit to Manchester. Lovely hotel with friendly & informative staff, both concierge and front desk. Location was great too, everything was within walking distance. Breakfast was first class and even though it was very busy, restaurant staff were friendly & helpful. This will definitely be our first choice when we come back next time.

I totally can not fault the staff at this hotel. The service was excellent. The lobby is glorious and you well welcomed as soon as you enter. The rooms are spacious. One little critism would be the layout of the bathroom but the wet room/shower made up for it. Approx 20min walk from Manchester Piccadilly and The Phones 4 U arena so very central is attending concerts. The champagne bar was exoctic and lushous. Will def visit again.

What a cracking hotel this is. Centrally situated but just enough out the way to be in a quiet location. Hotel staff were helpful, smartly dressed and polite. The accommodation was excellent as was the rest of the hotel. Would recommend this one to everyone. Thanks Radisson.

Stayed Friday 23 May with my wife whilst attending a concert and hoping to have a restful night away from our young family. All was going well until it became clear a Sixth Form College Prom was taking place and the centre of all activity was the room next to us. By 1.30am we felt the loud music should have finished but alas not. A call to reception should have seem the matter dealt with but at 3.30 we have to intervene ourselves. The foul language and noisy antics is not what I would expect from a 5* hotel and I have to question whether or not all those attending were legally old enough to drink. On taking this up with the duty manager, who did eventually do the right thing and acknowledge the issue, we left exhausted and disappointed. Clearly the lure of easy money from 180 kids was paramount over other guests enjoying their stay. Before leaving we had breakfast and having been fortunate enough to stay in many 5* hotels across the world, a self service buffet with little choice just doesn't cut it. The Opus bar whilst nicely decorated is over-priced, a like-for-like gin and tonic in a well known restaurant down the road is £4.10 as opposed to £9.80. Hiding behind the hotel being 5* doesn't mean they can charge what they like and probably explained why it was very quiet. The rooms are clean but very corporate in look and feel. This hotel is punching well above its weight and before you consider staying here make sure there are no school proms taking place

I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay. We were very concerned when you informed us of the disturbance caused by some less considerate guests and were pleased to remove your room charge as a small gesture. I would like to clarify that we have recently been re-accredited with our five star status and are proud to have received a Certificate of Excellence from Trip Advisor.

A fairer rating would probably be somewhere between average and very good - but TA doesn't allow that so I've gone for average (as very good would be overstating it). We liked the hotel, nice decor, modern feel, good bars, very good location. But it was let down by a couple of things - cost of the breakfast (I know they are probably not alone in charging what they do but it just is excessive). Also a couple of the staff were a bit hit and miss - for example we were told that to get to the spa from our room we would have to exit the lift in the main lobby and walk down the stairs (in our lovely towelling robes and slippers!). We thought this couldn't be correct and so called the concierge who pointed us to the lift that does service the spa. Also, for some random reason the tv decided to turn itself on first thing on Sunday morning... Not the way we wanted to be woken up. These may seem small details but....

Nice central location - very short walk to the city's Art Gallery, main library, Town Hall, shopping centres and so forth. Comfortable and well thought-out rooms, spoilt only by blinds that let in far too much light. Helpful staff (and plenty of them).
