“Didn't want to leave”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty, Franc on reception was incredible and upgraded us to a City View room, Jimmy the concierege was also wonderful and took the time to ask where we were from and have a chat with us. The room was absolutely beautiful, with plush furnishings and a stunning bathroom, and the most comfy bed and pillows, the ice had not even begun to melt in the ice bucket when we arrived (so much attention to detail) and there was a lovely welcome surprise for our special occasion. We really thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to return soon, this is a beautiful hotel with everything you could wish for, but the staff are an absolute credit to the Radisson name. Many thanks for everything Liz and Andy x

Room Tip: A city view room is a must

Just returned home from a first visit to Manchester and a two night stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian. It was a belated Mother's Day gift and a chance for some retail therapy and indulgence with Mum. We both loved the city and the hotel is in a perfect location to enjoy everything it has to offer, with some terrific restaurants and nightlife close by. Check in was courteous and efficient and the room itself was comfortable and clean, with many of the facilities you'd expect from a hotel of it's type and standard. Sadly the room was not however what we had reserved, having requested and paid an additional sum for a deluxe "city view" room, only to be informed by reception on arrival that "the twin rooms don't have city views". We were moved to a room on a higher floor and while we appreciate that that we could see some of the city scape, with the best will in the world the back end of a Conference Centre and an apartment building can't really be billed as "stunning" and certainly shouldn't be charged at a premium. We also discovered late in the day that the room service menu could be accessed via the TV. An in room guide would have been helpful. Some biscuits to accompany the tea and coffee would also have been welcome.

The staff were very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay and having dined in both of the hotel's restaurants, Opus One and the Steak and Lobster, we were generally very impressed with the food. We understood that both restaurants were going for "mood lighting" but at times a torch would have been handy to read the menu and see your dining companion, particularly in the Steak and Lobster. The couple seated next to us seemed to be having the same problem and resorted to waving at each other. Breakfast was a busy, crowded affair but that didn't impact on the quality and standard of service, which remained high. We sadly found ourselves in the middle of a 4am competition to see who could slam their bedroom door loudest. At that hour you begin to have sympathy with the view that Hell is other people! Perhaps a sensor attached to the door which automatically puts a charge on their bill might work (that's only partly in jest), failing the option for the rest of the guests to visit them as they struggle with their hangover later in the morning/afternoon, accompanied by a brass band. Overall we were impressed with the hotel and loved Manchester, which probably added to it's shine. It's a very comfortable, modern city hotel, with a staff it can be proud of. Find a way to deal with the championship door slamming and we'd be more than happy to return.

This hotel is in the perfect location for the great shops and restaurants Manchester has to offer. The room was modern and well equipped, the staff were all extremely helpful. This is our second stay in this hotel, the first was 4 years ago and standards have remained consistent. We also enjoyed yet another great meal in Opus One, the hotel restaurant.

Stayed here for a weekend break for wife's 40th birthday. Got room 1421 on top floor with city view. Great bed, nice size of room and bathroom. A happy birthday plate with chocolates from the hotel very much welcomed! Two very small gripes. There was a hole in my bathrobejabs I got charged twice for my stay but the service by Chantelle was at the same high standard as the front house and even phoned my bank to get this fixed ASAP. Big thanks to here. All in all a great stay!!

My daughter and I had the most amazing experience at The Sienna Spa. Everything was perfect from the beautiful spa facilities and the wonderful atmosphere, the staff are so attentive staff and nothing is too much trouble. We had a fantastic facial and full body massage and then a lovely champagne in the restaurant.

This hotel is right next to Albert square and some great bars and restaurants all within walking distance and lots of shops too.

The rooms are newly furnished with all expected modern stuff to a high standard, tv especially is massive and for a standard room it's a very good size.

Staff were friendly and it was quick check in.

Just returned home from our one night stay at this hotel for my friends birthday. I thought the hotel did have a touch of class, staff were friendly, rooms were clean and modern. But...when I booked the hotel I mentioned that we would be stopping for my friends birthday, and any special treats would make our stay more memorable. I also emailed the hotel to explain why we were staying and asked if there was anything they could do to make my friends birthday one to remember. This was totally ignored. I received no reply and nothing was mentioned during our stay. I did feel a bit letdown because I have since noticed on other reviews that the hotel have done some lovely things for others when staying for their birthdays. But for some reason my request was ignored and I do feel slightly letdown because of this. Overall a very nice comfortable hotel in a decent location.
