We stayed for one night in August and were disappointed with our experience. It started badly when we arrived at 2 30pm to be told our room wasn't ready (check in is from 2pm) and had to wait 45 minutes for our room.

When we got to our room water was dripping in over the window as it was raining outside. The hotel clearly knew this as they had placed a towel underneath to soak up the water! Why try and let a guest stay in a room you know there's a problem with? This is supposed to be a 5* hotel.
After we complained we were moved to a different non-leaking room, which was fine but took more time. Irritating given we just has the one night.

The room was ok, but not great: the blinds don't meet up properly, and the shower was pretty pathetic.

The breakfast is also ok but for a 5 star hotel the selection is limited (it's certainly nowhere near as good as the Radissons I have stayed in in London, Liverpool or Durham).

Other irritations included the pool not working (and being told repeatedly it would be fixed that day, although it never was), and the information on the website about the room facilities (free movies, complimentary drinks) not being correct.

All in all a poor experience.

Dear David,

Thank you for sharing your feedback following your stay here at the Manchester Hotel. I am sorry that despite offering our apologies to you on arrival and arranging a new room for you you were still not happy with the hotel and its offerings.
There indeed was a miscommunication via our housekeeping department with your original room - I am happy that I was able to resolve this within minutes of you arriving into your room.
As soon as our team was aware that the swimming pool had an issue the team worked non stop to correct the issue. The decision was not taken lightly to close the pool but as I am sure you can understand our Customer's safety is paramount therefore the pool was closed until we were absolutely sure that external engineers had corrected the fault and the pool was fully operational, I am sorry that you found this unacceptable.
Our Breakfast offering had recently won an award both for the buffet service and the full a la carte menus offered 7 days a week, if we do not stock an item you would like our full team of breakfast chefs will do their utmost to cater to any special requirements you may have.
I hope that you will consider returning to us and allow us another chance to showcase our award winning hotel in the future.
Kind Regards
Stefan Rae

A great 1 night stay. The service was excellent by all staff from check in to check out. Juan Carlos on reception couldn't do enough and gave an upgrade for my birthday!! The Lobster Steak restaurant was excellent and great value - although the restaurant was rather cold. Cocktails in the bar were excellent. The room was very good and towels kept being refreshed. Breakfast was superb with everything you could wish for. Great location in the centre of Manchester close to shops, bars and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Got brought her by my boyfriend for my 21st birthday, we arrived on Sunday and left Tuesday. On arrival we had no problem with checking in quick and they even wished me 'Happy Birthday' which was a wonderful added touch. Arriving in the room on the 9th floor, there on our desk was a plate with 'Happy Birthday' written in chocolate with little chocolates which was a wonderful added touch. The room was very clean both days, tea and coffee was kept topped up which was a bonus. The bath and shower was amazing and the room had everything we needed for an amazing beautiful room, with a wonderful view. Will defiantly be coming back here. Close enough to the town centre, plenty of food places and things to do around the hotel including a bowling alley and a cinema and close to St Peter's Square tram line, to get you anywhere you need to get to.

Brilliant hotel, lovely staff, lovely room. Will be staying there again.

While the service provided by the Hotel's staff was very good and the public spaces appeared to be well maintained, the al fresco suite in which we stayed (Room 627) was in need of some refurbishment.

The coffee table and sofa in the room were both heavily marked, some of the light switches were cracked and the sliding door onto the terrace was in desperate need of maintenance.

The suite lacked any of the small touches that make a true five star experience - there was no guest book in the room, no biscuits with the tea service, and the replacement of the usual complimentary toiletries with soap dispensers, gives the strong impression that this hotel is far more concerned with maximising its profits than it is on creating the most enjoyable five star experience for its guests.

All of this would be perfectly acceptable in a low star budget hotel, were prices and guest expectations are considerably lower, but at well over £200 a night, the absence of these small niceties, and the apparent lack of attention to detail in the maintenance of the rooms, is not only disappointing, but greatly undermines the Radisson brand by associating it with the petty money saving techniques of lesser hotels.

On a positive note - the room was always cleaned to a high standard, the hotel is very well situated, and excluding the room service employee who tried to enter our room while the do not disturb sign was on, the staff were all very good.

For me to feel more positive about this hotel, I would expect greater attention to detail and a more apparent emphasis on the guest experience, rather than the present and painfully obvious focus on pure profit maximisation.
