“Fantastic but let down by parking/loading”
Reviewed 11 May 2009

The hotel itself is really great and I strongly recommend it. The staff were excellent and the hotel is comfortable and stylish in a contemporary way. The only weakness is that there is no parking although there is a very expensive NCP 5 minutes walk away. But beware - there are only double yellow lines outside so even loading/unloading is risky!

We spent Easter weekend in Manchester and chose the Radisson for it's great location and positive reviews here. We managed to obtain an excellent rate online which proved to be exceptionally good value for money. The hotel has a wonderful mix of old and new (pretty much like Manchester itself). The old exterior of the Free Trade Hall remains with the new addition of a glass building behind it. On arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome and a swift check-in. Our room was a good size, floor to ceiling windows overlooking the old G-MEX building, spacious bathroom, good in-room facilities and a nice touch, seeing as it was Easter, an Easter egg on arrival! We had a light lunch in the restaurant. One criticism here was that despite there being only a handful of occupied tables, our food did take a long time to arrive (a pizza and a club sandwich). The gym is small but has all the basic equipment you would expect. Towels and locker keys are provided. Our only other criticism is that pool is heavily chlorinated. We passed this onto reception and they took our comments on board. Breakfast each morning was fantastic with such a huge choice of cold and hot dishes available. Getting around the city from the hotel is a breeze as we walked everywhere. All the shops, restaurants, bars and attractions are no more than 10-15mins away. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the the Radisson and in Manchester. Despite our minor criticisms we would be happy to stay here again.

oom, service, friendliness shown to a sole female traveller was fantastic. Great buzz in the public area added to the fact that there was a wedding taking p[lace and the Spursd team were staying prior to their match the following day with Man Utd. Overall one of the best stays I have had in the UK. Thanks all.

concierge was brilliant...so helpful.
Room good and pool/spa very nice.

Was my aunties 60th and we celebrated with a meal in the Opus restaurant.

Took ages between each course,,, the chicken/sausage dish they served up was really poor...as was the pasta.
We did get a significant reduction on the bill after we complained about the level of service and quality of the
food.. Thats good but this was a big night for us and people had travelled long distanced to manchester.

The levels of customer service from the bar staff was, I have to say, appalling..

To busy posing or chatting up various girls and seemed to get annoyed when you had the audacity to disturb them by requesting a drink.

If you are a young pretty female, or maybe a football star.. you probably wont have a problem getting served.

Dear Reviewer.

Thank you for taking the time to complete tripadvisor. Whilst we are delighted to read your very positive comments,

We were most concerned to learn of the service delay in Opus. I can assure we have addressed this and reminded all our staff of our normally high standrds.
