“Fabulous hotel”
Reviewed 12 December 2010

Stayed here on a free reward night from the Goldpoints programme. The staff were very helpful. We wanted to find out if there was a shop open nearby and one of the hotel staff offered to go and look on the internet for us. The room was nice and spacious.
Free wi-fi in the room. Really comfy bed. There is a gym and pool on site. The gym is really good for a hotel gym. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for 1 night on a hen weekend. The rooms were good, service was good, staff were good. Nothing more to say except I would certainly stay here again. Everyone smiles and seems happy, such a rarity these days!

A very nice hotel in a great location. Only two complaints - reception cancelled a booking I had made for a friend without my knowledge, and the hotel bar charges extortionate prices for drinks and then slaps on a 10% service charge! Be warned.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we were concerned to read that your friend's reservation had been cancelled and if you would like to contact the hotel directly so that we can investigate further. Service charge in the bar is optional and can be removed upon request.

Stayed at the radisson for 1 night I was intially a bit apprehensive as we had never stayed in a 5 star hotel before, however the reception staff member (Alex) who dealt with us was both professional polite & extremely helpful.

The rooms were very nice we were situated on the 8th floor, we were pleased overall with the room it was very comfortable, the only thing I could probably mention was that the rather odd blinds were damaged.

The only other problem was the rude overbearing security staff. As we are an alternative looking young couple, when we came back to the hotel on a few occasions they spoke to us as though we shouldn't be there and visibly looked shocked that we'd produced a room key.

This however did not detract from the hotel it was mearly an annoyance and would not stop me recommending friends and family staying here.

Check out was again dealt with by the same person Alex, who again was extremely helpful in sorting out a problem with the mini bar, it's an automated system & came back to find my partner rifling through thus adding purchases! (can't leave him for more than 5 minutes!) he removed said items with no qualms

All in all a lovely place to spend the night at :-)

Thank you for all of these comments. Due to our central location and close proximity to local bars, the comfort and safety of our guests is a priority. Please accept my apologies if our staff appeard a little over zealous in carrying out their duties.

We had a nice stay at the Radisson Edwardian. The room (1018) on the 10th floor was well appointed, although I am not a fan of the B&O TV system that so many of the top-end hotels use but that's just a personal preference that I like a power button on the remote. The room rate included wifi which was fast enough and had a good signal strength. The bathroom had a shower and a bath separate, which was good, but as it was a wetroom they should really provide a squeegee to get rid of all the water on the floor after a shower.

There was plenty of staff so we never had to wait anywhere. The breakfast was no good though. We got there about 90 minutes before the end of breakfast time, but already it was clear that the food had been on display way too long. There wasn't a single edible slice of cheese on display and the meat cuts were dried out as well. I also found the tomato juice rather watery. The breakfast was a disappointment in otherwise good stay.

This hotel is not quite living up to its potential. Everything needed to make every stay spectacular is already there - the restaurant manager needs to pull his/her finger out as it's the food that is letting the side down.

A pleasant check in by friendly staff, even down to teaching me how to get up to the eighth floor using the security card lift feature. Tasteful room, with bathroom and shower facility. Comfortable bed. Pleasant to have returned to find turn down surface had visited. Charming bar staff.

Breakfast was a bit of a let down. Tomato juice that had been cut out of a packet, unchilled and without substance. Pleasant staff hovering about, but a self service buffet for cooked food, with food drying out under hot lights. This would be ok in a motorway service station, but in a hotel that claims to be top of the range, this is just laziness. Also I do wonder, why do hotels insist on inflicting unbearably loud Radio 2 on guests, even at 7:10 am.

Oh I love the Radisson Edwardian Manchester.

It's decor is all about grandeur: buddha sculptures in the reception area, oyster shaped lampshades, real flowers colour coordinating the chocolate relaxing dining area, wet room bathrooms. They've even recruited helpful beautiful staff to match the atmosphere and chic feeling of the hotel.

The rooms are sound proof, warm and relaxing. I could quite easily lock myself in the room, wrap myself in the heavy robe, and order room service.

Perfect hotel and centrally located for exploring Manchester.
