“An oasis of food and drink.”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

We visited the market as part of a mid-week visit to Manchester. We have been here many times in the past and it always pleases me to see the vast array of fresh fish (so far from the sea) and all the other fresh produce on display. The eateries crammed into such a small place have got to be seen to be believed and they are all good quality and from all points of the compass.
We even found a mini-bar selling real ale and cider as well as a large range of international bottled beers. It was so cheap as well, knocking even Wetherspoons out! As an old (?) Manc I remember the old shops and streets around here back in the 60s and in my opinion, the changes have made Manchester the number 1 city centre in the UK.

“Cheese heaven!”
Reviewed 8 October 2013 via mobile

Manchester's great for restaurants and bars but pretty skinny on the deli / specialist food shop front unless you're in the 'burbs. In the Manchester Markets bit of the Arndale, there's a swathe of indie food stalls including Pancho's where I scratch my Mexican food itch. Delicious. Also worth a visit is The Queen Brie who specialise in all things cheese and the good things that go with it (biscuits, chutneys and wine) Staff are friendly, clued up and keen to help you on your choice, whether it's a cheddar for sandwiches or a cheese board for a special dinner. Good choice, great prices. And they'll let you taste before buying.

“The centre was huge but the market seemed like an add on”
Reviewed 19 August 2013 via mobile

The Arndale Centre itself was huge and very clean with all the usual shops. I had gone to see the market. The stalls/shops were generally good value for money and the food was interesting there were just so few there. I thought it would have been much larger. What was there was lovely.

“a must do in Manchester”
Reviewed 16 May 2013

a treasure box at reasonable prices. very friendly people who work there and here's my tips while you visit here
DO
use Hansfords as its the cheapest for tea or coffee
visit the Micro Bar for a proper ale drink
look in Asia Crafts as the prices are good for little gifts
try the food here its nice
use cash as all traders accept it
use the public transport to get there nearest tram stop is Market St

DON'T
go further into the Arndale centre as they're rob dogs

i normally chill out here between trains and i got to know the traders as i used to be a cleaner in the Arndale. not a bad word to say about it
