I've had to rate this venue as "average" as its not "above average" and this site does not allow you to simply say "Good".
My wife and I visited this purely by chance as we were visiting the evening reception of a family wedding nearby and as their own timetable had overrun and by some time, we needed to get something to eat.
Not being locals, we asked the chap on the door and he said the only "tolerable" pub close by was this one. But he'd never been there!!
When we first pulled up we were a little concerned as it looked a little tired and run down, but we went in anyway and were so pleased that we did. The owner/manager turned out to be Lebanese and although this pub is very English, its food is traditional Lebanese.
This turned out to be a very nice surprise and following a sample of six dishes served something like a Tapas in style, we were really impressed. And it was excellent value costing only £23.00 for all our food and four drinks.
Don't expect a posh environment and don't expect a culinary experience, but if you want to try interesting and unusual food, well cooked and offering excellent value, this is worth a try.
If we lived locally we'd certainly visit again.
