Was told there was a two hour wait for a table which was fine, we expected to wait and were happy to do so. They took my details and I said great we'll come back in about an hour and a half thinking we would go for a drink somewhere we could actually sit down and then come back and have a drink there before our table was ready. Apparently this isn't allowed and if we want to reserve a table we have to stay there for the whole two hours. There was no space at all inside so they wanted us to stand in an alley way at the side of the restaurant for two hours whilst paying them for the pleasure?! This is bad enough under normal circumstances, but I am currently 8 months pregnant so standing in an alley way on a hot summers day isn't ideal.
Really left a bad taste in my mouth as they were less than accommodating. We were happy to wait but you can only do so if you are prepared to stand in an alley way putting money in their till whilst you do so. If they could have offered a chair or stool I would have sat in the alley way, but nothing.
Reluctantly we tired again a week later on a hopefully quieter day and this time the wait was an hour. We squeezed onto two stools that are completely in the way for staff coming in and out of the kitchen or people ordering drinks at the bar, but alas, it was a seat non the less.
Waited about an hour and we were seated.Took them a while to take our food order considering we had been looking at it an hour. Once ordered the food came really quickly and was all fresh and piping hot. We ordered six plates between two - lamb parcels, calamari, patas bravas, chorizo, ribs and steak. Couldn't fault any of the dishes and will be returning (hopefully on a mid-week afternoon to avoid the long wait).
The decor and atmosphere are really nice and along with the outstanding food is what really makes this place so special. Think they just need to work on their service/offering a bit more as no food is worth a two hour wait in an alleyway!
