“Good but bed was so uncomfortable! ”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

Nice modern hotel, which is located right next to Piccadilly station and a close to the centre. Stayed on the 9th floor and it was quiet, and there was great views over Manchester! However, the bed was so uncomfortable it felt like the springs had gone, so didn't sleep that well. The man at reception did come across as quite rude at times as well, but apart from that was a good stay and the room was clean and modern, just shame about the beds!

We booked this hotel to attend the soccer aid, as we booked three weeks prior to advent, all hotels near the stadium was booked.
Then I came across this one. I was concerned that it was too far away and parking would be a nightmare!
How wrong was I.
Firstly the car park is right opposite the hotel perfect with children and luggage. The cost was £8.50 per day. The hotel to stadium was easy a short walk to tram in city (3mins) then tram to stadium (15mins) cost was £10.15 all day got family of hour.
There was lots to look at around hotel and restaurants , shops. The breakfast at hotel ws lovely, and friendly atmosphere great for family's.
The family room was larger and perfect for our trip.
In all this is a great venue, position for a trip to Manchester

This is the second time we have stayed at the Premier Inn Piccadilly.

Excellent location, clean rooms, good nights sleep and £29 for a midweek stay.

The bar/restaurant is integral to the hotel so a short walk from the reception.

The 'but bit'... When we arrived the 3 check in terminals were 'out of order' and there didn't appear to be a 'back up' plan to check in guests other than the 'let's switch them off and on' to see what happens.

Being told to enter our surname into a screen still showing 'out of order' didn't help. Eventually the screens sprang into life and we got checked in but the customer service experience from staff was below par.

We decided to have a meal before going out so went into the restaurant. We stood there for a while and nobody appeared. So we went back to the bar to check food was being served and having been assured it was went back to wait again in the restaurant. Eventually a member of staff appeared.

The service afterwards and the food were fine.

No complaints about the hotel at all - customer service a bit below parr on this visit.

Stayed here on 5 May 2014 for 2 nights..
It is so close to Manchester Piccadilly Train Station, like in only 5 mins walk.
It's also within walking distance (about 10-15 mins walk) to Piccadilly Gardens where there are lots of shops and eateries, and where the Wheel of Manchester is situated.

Check-in was so automated and super fuss-free! We were pretty impressed because even in places like Japan/Korea, hotel check-ins that we stayed before are not this advanced yet. The room key is automatically issued by the machine once you key in/scan ur particulars.

Bed is big and comfy. Bathroom is clean and has shower foam provided. Towels are also provided. There is a vanity area in the room, with lights on the mirror, which is good for ladies to do their makeup. There is also hair dryer available in the room.

We didn't have breakfast included in our stay, so i can't comment on the food/restaurant.
Overall, a clean and comfortable stay!

This is yet another Premier Inn that does what it says on the tin. We travel quite frequently and always try and stay in a variety of different hotels and B&Bs in a variety of price and comfort levels. When staying in city centres in the UK however, our default choice is usually Premier Inn. So called city luxury hotels in the UK are usually far from luxurious and cost an arm and a leg. The Premier Inn chain does nothing more than offer a clean and comfortable bedroom with an efficient bathroom which are designed around security and quietness. This one in Piccadilly is no different. A five minute walk from the station and plenty of nice cafes for a coffee and bun for breakfast alongside. We never bother with the Premier cooked breakfast which is just the usual fried choice. We have stayed in Premier Inns in cities all over the UK and enjoyed staying in them. We will continue to do so if standards are maintained as well as these in Manchester.

I chose this hotel because I wanted somewhere not too expensive and close to Manchester town centre/train station. It fitted all of those requirement's and the staff were really good and helpful too. My daughter and I had our room upgraded at no extra price and free wifi too. The staff in the restaurant were also really helpful explaining how things worked for the breakfast and asking if we had enjoyed it once we had eaten. The only downside is that I found it a bit noisy at night, but you have to expect that if you are in the town centre.
