Description: Olive & Thyme is a Mediterranean cafe, bar and restaurant in the heart of Chorlton, offering freshly prepared food ranging from Mezes and Turkish Kebabs to Italian Pastas and Pizzas. Our unique venue is very spacious making it a comfortable and welcoming place to dine with groups of friends, families and colleagues or just on your own. O&T benefits from its south-facing shop front allowing plenty of sun light, whether you are sitting inside next to the wood-burning stove or outside in the heated glassed seating area.

I took my friend to Olive & Thyme as a special treat as we both love Mediterranean food.

The restaurant is alive with atmosphere, and has a buzz about it that I have found hard to experience anywhere else. The wood burner right at the entrance made us feel warm and welcome straight away. Service is prompt and personal, despite the staff being busy in this buzzing atmosphere. The place is alive with nice background music and fantastic authentic Italian, Turkish and Greek cuisine.

The portions are perfect. We had the a la carte menu and the lavash bread with garlic dip that was brought out made the meal even more special. I had the chicken and mushroom risotto which was a real treat and my friend had the lamb shish kebap which was very well cooked. The taste is the best of any Mediterranean food I have encountered, and the prices completely reflect the quality of the meal and service.

I cannot recommend this venue highly enough.

“Amazing!”
Reviewed 10 February 2013

My girlfriend and i had an amazing eating experience. The food was amazing and the staff were very helpful, professional and welcoming. Very reasonably priced for the quality and presentation of the food. I would personally recommend the Ottoman Lamb Casserole, a very rustic dish with a generous portion of meat! I would recommend to anyone who enjoys good food. Easily on par with any high end restaurant in city centre! keep up the good work!

“Great atmosphere,great food”

Warm and friendly service, informative on all food choices. A family run restaurant with a cosy setting in the heart of chorlton proved to be a nice night out. The food was presented delightfully and was justified by the quality.

“Disastrous”
Reviewed 8 February 2013

Came as a four. On arrival asked if we could come back in 45 minutes as we hadn't booked. Perfectly reasonable so off we went. When we came back we were seated but after about ten minutes had to request menus to get drinks. Had to then call a waiter for service and decided to place a food order with the drinks to get things going. After 45 minutes we called the waiter over to check on our order. Confusion as he went to check in the kitchen. When he came back he said ten minutes. It arrived twenty minutes later. The table next to us had arrived before us and still hadn't got their starter, so duly complained, and theirs arrived shortly afterwards. The starters were average - do not order the baked brie - and for such a long wait were very disappointing. After another lengthy wait, we enquired about our mains. Same process, off trotted the waiter, and a time given. An hour after our starters the mains arrived, but were wrong. They then brought out the correct dishes but had rushed the chicken which was bloody and undercooked. The waiter's were rushed off their feet but the manager did not seen bothered and said 'well, we are busy', as if it was rude of us to complain. Most of chorlton's restaurants are busy. They gave us a bottle of house wine for free but by this time no one was in the mood to stick around to drink it. When we left the manager slammed the door behind us, as if we were rude customers, rather than a group that had been pretty patient given the shocking service and sub standard food. Avoid.
