“Good Location, Average Hotel”

Good location if you're looking for night life. Also most convenient to the train station, which gives quick access to the airport. Room was ok - kinda small with a protruding shelf on which I whacked my head a couple times. Breakfast is offered at a small restaurant nearby - not bad. A bit overpriced for what you get, in my opinion.

The staff were excellent and so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated. I would stay here again. I loved being on canal street where you can sit outside at a café, drink tea and watch the interesting array of characters walking by. The only down side was no tub but for a historic hotel, I can overlook this issue.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for an upgrade, better views.

Great location, clean, tidy & free muffin on arrival (bonus!!). Wifi didn't seem to reach the rooms downstairs, but wasn't a massive issue for us. Brett on reception was helpful with directions and local knowledge.

Room Tip: Basement rooms are a little damp smelling and no wifi access.

Great location for a great stay, Sparkle Weekend.

We had a Lot of luggage with us, and it was hard to get the car anywhere near to unload but that was our only issue.

The desk clerk took time to find us a larger room to accommodate all the luggage, which was very kind. The room was still small but the bed was extremely comfortable. A view of a side wall only but who needs to sit and look at Canal Street when you can be out in it? Noise-wise, yes, the music was loud on Friday and Saturday night but when it stopped, around 02:00, probably, it was absolutely quiet, no street sounds at all. It was also very quiet within the hotel.

Decent-sized bathroom, and good power in the shower, although I'd have like to have been able to turn the heat down a bit farther than it would go (38 degrees).

The welcome muffins were great but I didn't understand why we didn't qualify for breakfast (the site says all rates include breakfast) but I hadn't made the booking, many and paid months ago, so perhaps something had changed.

All the desk staff were great - friendly and chatty; 24-hour reception and a secure front door were very welcome.

A great stay - I'll definitely stay here again.

Lovely room, in a small and perfect hotel located in an amazing street, great staff, nice place to stay in town, just 5 minutes away from the station. I hope we will be back again, we stayed for just 1 night and we had fresh muffins at the arrival and at departure as well.

Stayed with my daughter in a twin room for 2 nights on a short holiday to take in Mancs, Blackpool and Corrie tour. Superb central location, we stayed midweek but absolutely no problems with noise in our side room. I worried that the nearby Chorlton St NCP would be cramped or not have spaces but this was not the case and hotel guests get a discount which does help.
Relaxed, super friendly reception staff (ALL of them!), clean comfortable room and of course the muffins and wine were appreciated. We'd like to also praise the staff at the Olive deli for delicious breakfasts and making us feel right at home. Also recommended is the Richmond Tea Rooms in Richmond St, ie the street behind the hotel. Cakes to die for. We would most definitely stay here again, why go anywhere else?

After a few too many drinks and missing our last train home we looked at alternative places to sleep and found this on late rooms.

For the price it was perfect, even got free breakfast muffins!

The rooms are sub ground level and make for a comfortable night sleep on one of manchesters liveliest nightlife areas!
