Description: A little Gem of a place! A traditional English cafe with a speciality for home-cooked food. Linda's Pantry has been serving hot and cold food to eat in or take away for over 24 years in the last remaining Coaching House in Manchester City Centre, situated on the corner of Ducie Street, the opposite end to Piccadilly Railway Station on the canal side. Food is served from weekdays Mon-Fri 7.00am-4pm and Saturdays 8.00am-1.30pm. Whether you are looking to start the day with a full English breakfast or a couple rounds of toast and a mug of tea or coffee, or you are looking to have a hot cooked meal for lunch or just a sandwich you will have plenty of choice as well as plenty of taste to satisfy the hungriest of customers!

Here the decor counts for nothing. Clean neat and tidy but like the food it's basic in a good way. Have a feast and earwig on the locals. The staff are as freindly as can be. Unvarnished Manchester. Brilliant.

Thanks for the brief and heartfelt review. We take your point on the unvarnished aspect of the cafe considering its over a 100 years old and was one of the first Coach Houses in the City. In fact some of our regular customers love sitting in sampling the friendly banter and exchanging views on what's going on in the city on a day to day basis. People often come in who are not regulars to ask for directions and we offer maps of the City free of charge with useful tips on getting around the City. Thanks again.

“Very Friendly and Great Choice”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

Linda's Pantry is coming up to its 25th anniversary. It is an oasis in the middle of a slightly desolate area; however apparently a great improvement on 25 years ago and within spitting distance of the centre and Piccadilly Station ! The proprietor and her daughter are extremely friendly. I was served with some excellent coffee and a massive piece of home-made carrot cake which set me up for the day. There are extensive breakfast and lunch menus which should satisfy most tastes.

Thank you ever so much for the kind words and we are grateful for your review. We pride ourselves on everything you stated in your review from the friendly open and welcoming response we give to our customers when they are trying to make up their mind in front of the extensive menu which tries to cater for all of our customers tastes. You are probably aware of the large slices of homemade cakes ie: Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Cake, Lemon Drizzle and much more.
We are really glad you enjoyed the coffee and hopefully next time when you are here next time you will try our espresso, cappucino, latte, hot chocolate , or herbal teas. Thanks once again we hope to see you again soon when you are in the area.

“Small Haven of Cafe Loveliness”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013 via mobile

Visited on a cold autumn morning and was rewarded with a steaming hot plate full of home made steak pie chips and peas for less than £4.Excellent range of home cooked food at ridiculously cheap prices and lovely service. As a bonus you also get the feeling that you've just stumbled onto the set of Dinner Ladies! Wonderful.

A small haven, that's one phrase that has been used by many of our customers on a hot as well as your autumn day visit to describe Linda's Pantry. We are very much aware that the food all be it reasonably priced is of the highest quality and sourced at the local suppliers nearest to the cafe, ensuring the taste and freshness is as appetising as the price itself.

Thank for your kind review and we look forward to seeing you again. from The Dinner Ladies! :-)

That's the nickname of Linda's Pantry to a lot of our customers, the hidden Gem!
Why? For the very reasons you stated in your review and considering it is one of the oldest buildings in Manchester we ensure despite its age that we maintain the cleanliness you stated in your review! We believe it is no coincidence that people who visit our cafe choose to return because we are very much aware of the importance of the Health and Safety of customers whether they are first time customers or long standing customers who either eat-in or choose to take-away their food. Thank you for taking the time to do a review, Much appreciated.

“What a great little cafe, breakfast was lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

On a weekend trip to Manchester and popped in here on a Saturday morning and enjoyed the whole small, local, café experience along with our full English breakfast. Found the staff very welcoming, the café was clean, and the breakfast with mug of tea/coffee was delicious. Ordered some take-away sandwiches which were freshly prepared and kept in the fridge until we'd finished our breakfast. The owner chatted to us to ask where we'd come from and recommended some places to visit in Manchester, giving us a map to help us find our way round. Would certainly come here again for breakfast, lunch, take-away sandwich if back in Manchester.

And they say the Southerners don't get on with the Northerners!

We are so glad you enjoyed your weekend in Manchester despite our weather. Being a family run business for nearly 25 years were very much aware how important it is to provide healthy wholesome hot and cold meals for long journeys as well as providing the same fayre for our local regular customers.

Thank you for taking the time to do a review.
