I stayed at Arora for 3 Nights with my girlfriend end of August. We were on a weekend break away from London. We arrived early at 12 but check in is at 2PM but we were allowed to check in which was very great. We checked into a very clean spacious room everything was just perfect. We really like Arora as it is centrally located and everything is within easy reach. We also checked out the trendy bar at the basement and we had some really good cocktails during their happy hour, have a wide selection of cocktails and the bar if fully stocked.
I would definitely stay at Arora and I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here for 2 nights because we were attending a friend's wedding at the art gallery across the road and it was the recommended accommodation.

The rooms were clean and quite large. There was a mini bar but nothing in it. To be honest, apart from the size, the room wasn't any better than a travel lodge or premier inn.

The staff were pleasant enough to us and we didn't have problems on that front.

We spent some time in the hotel bar (really good cocktails). I ordered a steak sandwich, which I found disappointing. The chips were clearly frozen oven chips that hadn't been cooked very well and the bread was that thin cheap bread. It would have been nicer if it was thicker bread. It wouldn't have fallen apart so easily then and tasted much nicer.

Later on that evening when my husband and I were at the bar ordering some drinks when the nice bar lady said someone else had been using our room number to charge drinks to! She didnt ask for ID or anything yet knew it wasnt the person's room! Sure enough when we checked out we were told our bar bill was £46! We'd been paying as we had bought so knew this was odd, aside from the fact the bar lady had already informed us someone was using our room number. The receptionist only showed us a receipt when we asked (no itinerary of our spend before you pay when we checked out like you'd normally get from a hotel) and then when we asked to see the receipts we would have to have signed they didn't have any record of them! They had to wipe the £46 bill of drinks in the end because they couldn't prove it was us who had signed for the drinks. Seems pointless getting you to sign for things if they arent going to keep them. It shows how easy it is to charge something to someone else's room without any proof of who they are and if that is ACTUALLY their room.

We got a cheaper rate for the car park through the hotel. Unfortunately when the receptionist gave us our 2 tickets she numbered them incorrectly so we spent a good 25 minutes speaking to the car park staff to prove we'd paid for the parking etc. was a bit of a pain but got sorted eventually.

I have to say, overall, there are better places to stay and I wouldn't stay here again.

clean comfortable room, toilet and bed. very nicely made up and modern. everything you'd expect from a 4* hotel.

very comfortable large beds and pillows..we are very bad sleepers and had a fantastic sleep the few days we were there. had controlled ac/ heating, which was great in the warmth for one day, and it was cold the other (manchester for you!).

great location as it's just opposite Chinatown and 10mins walk to town centre.

all in all, really recommend this place.

We were only ever expecting this to be a stay in a value, City Centre Hotel - but were disappointed, initially, when the Receptionist couldn't find our reservation. Despite repeatedly disappearing into the office behind reception, clearly no-one there wanted to come out & help. Fortunately, our reservation was located, eventually, and we were able to check in.
I was disappointed, too, by the Room Service Breakfast, which turned up nearly 20 minutes late and was, mostly, cold.
I was also surprised to wake up covered in bites - I can only assume that the room had an infestation of fleas - nasty.
Oh, and after all that confusion at check-in, the Receptionist was going to charge me at check-out for a pre-paid stay. Lucky I spotted that one!
So, all in all, not special.

Dear handleymike,

I am sorry to hear that there was some confusion over your reservation, you made your booking through a new source for us and unfortunately as sometimes happens with new procedures it was overlooked, i am pleased that through the confusion the team managed to find you a room and get you checked in. My apologies for the late arrival of your breakfast and I will address this with the breakfast team. With regard to the assumption that the room was infested with fleas and you woke up covered in bites, we at The Arora treat cleanliness of our rooms with utmost pride and conviction as previous reviewers have testified. I have had the room professionally inspected which has revealed that there are no signs of any insect activity at all so therefore the alleged bites must have occurred elsewhere, I am somewhat surprised that you did not mention this when checking out when you passed comment about the breakfast.

Stayed here for one night and was very happy with the hotel.
Staff were extremley helpful and courteous.
Nice room, lovely bathroom, all the usual things you would expect from a 4* hotel. Fridge, hairdryer, safe, tv (although strangely NO itv)??? The city where the great Coronation Street is based a no ITV!!! Anyway.....
Hotel only 5 minutes walk from city centre so handy for everything.
Would recommend, and will definately stay in this hotel again.

Stayed for one night at this hotel, check in was quick, room was large, with all the usual amenities, WI fi is free for 30 minutes then a fiver for 24 hours. Room was clean, and bed comfortable. No ITV on television, unable to watch Coronation Street, in its home city. (reception said they would sort it, but didn't). Breakfast was buffet style and excellent choice of food. We ate in the hotel restaurant at night, the meal was excellent, staff were excellent, and the price was reasonable and on a par with Manchester City Center prices. Would definitely stay here again, and would definitely eat in the hotel restaurant.
