Arora Hotel Manchester

We stayed at the Arora for one night in January. This hotel is situated in a perfect location and has parking, at very affordable rates, practically next door.

Upon arrival, the staff were so friendly and helpful - the service seemed effortless. We were upgraded to a superior bedroom and WOW! Very spacious and VERY clean - there was everything you needed in the room for a care free overnight stay.

Due to the COLD weather we decided to eat (and drink) in the hotel bar and restaurant. If not rated one of the top 10 in Manchester then it should be! Again, the service was outstanding and a fantastic wine list. The food was just wonderful and the cheese list was out of this world. The ambiance in the restaurant was also great.

I could not say a bad thing about this hotel and would recommend to everyone! Stay at the Arora!

Thank you to all the team who made our stay so wonderful - we will be back!

Emma and Steve

Booked and paid for in advance and got a good quality room for a reasonable price (about £100 for a couple). I would agree with the other reviewers about the softness of the pillows (which is really down to personal preference), but the room was comfortable, warm and "as described" in the advanced booking information. The staff on reception were also friendly and helpful.

Our only complaint (again reported by other guests) was a cooked breakfast where half the items were just about cold, which, given it had been specially prepared (i.e. made to order) was a little surprising. If I can heat up some beans and mushrooms, then why can't a professional cook with virtually no one else in the dining room.

I stayed on Arora with my familie over new years. We stayed fore 3 nights in one room with 2 dbl beds. The room was spaceous and nice.

The staff on Arora was very friendly and service minded. Already from check in the experiance was great. We arrived 2 hours before check in time, all though the room was ready fore us - marvelous service from a very service minded lady in the reception.

Througout the stay there were smiling faces on every staff member we met. And very helpful with guideance, poweradapters etc. We are very satisfied!!!

Arora is siyuated in the centre og Manchester. Right by China Town were we found several nice and cheep restaurants. It`s only 2-3 minutes walk to the largest shopping centres in downtown Manchester, and the main streets. Very good location.

The room had a defect fridge, and the heating was a bit tricky to ajust to the right temperature, but over all we are very satisfied, and are serten to stay on the same place if we are going back to Manchester - which we most likely will. We had an excellent holiday!

Stayed for 1 night on Sunday 1 November 2009. The trip was a weekend getaway and we had stayed at the ABode Manchester on Saturday night. Both hotels had good reviews and the ABode was cheaper on Saturday night while the Arora had a better rate for Sunday night ; that's why we spent 1 night in each!

Reserved the Arora room on their web site 2 months before, paying 64 GBP (without breakfast)

The room was nice, bed was good, but the mini-fridge was not functioning. The bathroom was OK, clean but with an old shower mat and tiny washbasin. Have a look at the 3 uploaded photos.

We preferred the ABode because of its nicer bathroom, better location and more stylish design.

WE travellled to go to the MEN which is only a fifteen minute walk from the hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and could not do enough. Having booked it over the internet I contacted the hotel to clarify the location before booking and the response I got was amazing. Even on the phone, they could not do enough. This very much set the scene for the visit. The double double room was large, clean and contempory in design. Breakfast was very good and I would thouroughly recommend it for anyone staying in Manchester.

As with most hotels there was good and bad about the Arora. First the good - the bed was great, nice and big and comfy. The room itself was ok, a decent size, with everything we could need, along with a modern looking bathroom.
The hotel is also handily placed with Chinatown, the shops, city centre pubs/bars, etc, all within a short walking distance.
Now the bad - the room took ages to warm up even with the hot air blowers on full. Admittedly it was one of the coldest nights of the year outside, but it wasnt the warm, cosy room we had hoped for. The shower also had an alarming habit of switching from cold to very hot and not just for a few seconds either.
The staff on reception weren't particularly friendly and the guy looked down his nose at me when my card inexplicably failed when paying the bill. Luckily my girlfriend stepped in with her plastic! The card was working when I tried it the next day for some reason, so i can assure them I had the cash to pay!
More generally, why don't more hotels have 11am check-out times? 10am is too early especially on a Sunday morning!

Every year my husband and I go on a shopping trip to Manchester without kids and stay over, this year we tried arora as it was recommended to us. It was very average looked like more classy travellodge inside . The staff were very pleasant but we got our breakfast refunded because nothing was out at the same time so by the time we managed to get our food it had all gone cold very bad service in breakfast restaurant. All in all we wouldnt stay again as we have stayed at some much plusher hotels for the same money, the only real pro was the location which was great.
