Stayed on the 14th February 2014, my daughter had booked tickets for the Ruby Lounge (which was very near). On arrival at Piccadilly Train Station took a taxi to the hotel, but taxi driver didn't know where the hotel was and took us to the wrong Travelodge. Would bother with taxi next time as the hotel is only 5/ 10 minutes walk. Checked into hotel using Express Check in machine which was quick and easy to use. The hotel and rooms were spotless and you smell the new carpet. The room was comfortably with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom felt as if you were on a cruise, small compact with a shower. But were only given one bath towel for two people. Required hairdryer on the 15th February went down to reception to enquire and receptionist did every thing to find one but were all out and delivered one to our room. The location of the hotel is excellent near shops, across the road from Piccadilly gardens and Manchester wheel.
The only downside no facilities to leave baggage when checking out.

Rooms were lovely and clean. The staff were very helpful and were great to speak to! We had such a fun time in Manchester and staying here was a great choice! It was a minutes walk from bars and food and a 5 minute walk from shopping centre etc. The room was a bit cold at night but soon sorted with the powerful heater that was there. Only wish that the tv was a bit bigger! Thanks guys for a great night

We stayed on the 14th feb 2014 on arrival we found the location perfect for a valentine break. The staff on check in we're very helpful and gave us the great news that the bar was open until 5am, the rooms are the normal travelodge spec but very clean. I would just like to thank all the staff for a very enjoyable stay !!!

We stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of February. We had our worries with it being newly opened but couldn't of asked for more. Yes like previous comments have stated there was only 1 set of towels but when I went down to reception to ask for another set they were very helpful. Breakfast was nice and plenty of variety for us. Location was fantastic for where we wanted to be. Simple, friendly and clean hotel......great for the price! Will definitely be back.

Very clean as would expect from a week old hotel, no complementary shampoo and shower gel very poor. And only one set of towels for two people. Had to go to reception to get extra towels and had to wait as reception didn’t know where the towels were the last thing we wanted after a long haul flight and being very tired. No hairdryer in room but can be got at reception, would have been nice to have been told when checking in!! Woken up by rowdy drunk woman at 3 in the morning going to their rooms. Breakfast was ok but disappointed no fresh orange juice on offer just that orange drink stuff. A long way to go to get to premier inn's level. Not put me off though if the price is right.

I stayed one night, 1st February, just five days after this hotel opened its doors for business. Almost no complaints from me, and the couple that I have will probably be rectified as the staff get into the swing of things. I had a top floor room facing a courtyard but that was fine because I was out all day, but there are some rooms which overlook Piccadilly Gardens and the giant ferris wheel. Everything was clean and tidy including my generous sized double bedroom with ensuite. I stayed in a room ending in number ‘02’ which, together with ‘01’ and ’03’, are probably too close to the fire lobby door so that you can hear it closing with a thud every now and again. Once I heard someone lumbering along the corridor outside. But during the night I slept soundly. The corridor on the top floor still smells of new carpeting but I'm sure that'll fade away. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delayed approx 15 minutes but I didn’t mind. Some Travelodges have those metal serving dishes with handled hemi-spherical lids to keep food warm. This Travelodge had trays with clear plastic lids: a bit too cheap and clumsy to use I think. On the much more positive side, staff were very friendly and attentive. And the location is excellent with the front entrance right outside the ‘D’ bus stop from which the 216 bus service takes you to SportCity: great for cycling spectators like me.

Room Tip: Ask if you fancy a room facing onto Piccadilly Gardens, the ferris wheel, and the setting sun.

I stayed in this hotel recently on a business trip to Manchester. The value can't be faulted - a very good rate for a city centre hotel that's ideally situated. The room was comfortable, light and airy and allowed for a very good night's sleep. I did have breakfast at the hotel and, again, it was excellent value for money. The food was actually a lot better than it looked - sitting under the heat lamps on the counter it really didn't look particularly inviting.
Given that this was a new hotel I was a bit disappointed with the look of the public areas. They've gone for a kind of minimalist, functional approach and while it's perfectly adequate it doesn't make the place feel particularly warm and welcoming. But then, no-one really goes to a Travelodge for style and atmosphere. This is a well situated hotel that provides a functional room at an excellent rate.
