Stayed at this hotel for one night as was going to a music concert in Manchester. It was excellent - the room was amazing, so spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable! We were greeted by a very bright and cheerful receptionist who directed us to our room. Can't wait to visit again soon!

We stayed in the Electic Grand Suite for one night only, and the room was absolutely beautiful! The room was very spacious, complete with King sized bed, Plasma Tv and sitting area. The bed was also extremely comfortable, we definitely got a good nights sleep! We loved the lay out of our room as the bathroom was upstairs and on a different level to the rest of the room. The bathroom was spectacular complete with two spacious bath tubs, a huge shower/steam room and individual sinks! The room was really breathtaking and we will definitely be returning to re-live our stay. We would highly reccommend this room for couples as the room is very romantic and extremely comfortable! You will not want to leave!! Also, the bar area on the roof top is ideal especially as there is a hot tub! There is also another bar inside the hotel, and drinks are all reasonably priced. Cannot wait to return to Great John Street!

Room Tip: we stayed in room 32!

This was my 2nd stay at GJS and I have to say it's the best hotel I have stayed in, the attention to detail is amazing, I booked it this time for my partners 40th birthday an he wasn't disappointed, I arranged for Champagne to be in the room on arrival... we had our room upgraded, I spoke with tiffany the manager beforehand and she was fantastic, she is very good at her job and is such a bubbly character which I think is missed in a lot of hotels these days.... There was a party on the roof terrace but we were still able to go up and drink our champagne, they also booked a table for us at Rosso Restaurant whixh was fabulous also.... I ahve booked GJS again for this year and can't wait... well done Tiffany and all the staff at GJS... A 1st Class experience that we will won't forget xxx

Room Tip: All of the rooms are fabulous especially room 22 x

We arrived 2 hours early as we were attending a wedding at the hotel but the room was still ready for us, greeted by a very cheerful receptionist who then directed us to our room.
The room was stunning, a small lounge and up the staircase to a mezanine bedroom and bathroom. perfect lighting, spotlessly clean, it could not be faulted.

The wedding was stunning and we enjoyed the rest of the facilities whist there. The staff were all very helpful and cheerful. all our friends who were staying said their rooms were beautiful and spotlessly clean, no one had a single complaint apart from the fact that it is very expensive both to stay there and the drinks from the bar were very expensive.
The roof top bar was lovely in the evening, some of it under cover, so even though it was raining we could sit outside with the heaters on. Great end to a stunning wedding in a stunning hotel.
Would I stay there again? I would like to live there!

We stayed in the baby grand room over Easter weekend for 1 night. We quite often stay in Manchester and fancied trying out the Great John Street after reading previous reviews. We were not disapointed, the check in was smooth and the staff were really helpful asking us if we wanted advice where to eat but we already had a booking in Gaucho (also highly recommended). Our room was lovely; the best shower I have ever encountered in a hotel and the bed was so comfy. They view from the hotel room isn't great but that didn't bother us at all (you want a view stay at the Hiton). I also really enjoyed the hotel bar, good atmosphere and choice of drinks. You can walk to the city centre in about 15 mins but taxi's are always outside. I would not pick this hotel if you are looking for something central but I would if you are looking for something special. We didn't have breakfast but reading other reviews I wish I had!!

We booked the Boys Room for an intimate, surprise 60th Birthday meal for my mother in January and it was a wonderful evening.

We had our own manager - Gerrard whose hosting skills were impeccable, he learnt everyone's names before arrival and ensured every need was tended to.

Preparation wise, booking our meals, entertainment and smaller details couldn't be easier to plan, the events team made it easy for us to organise quite a complicated surprise meal.

We had two small children and one vegetarian and there was no problem accommodating anyone's needs with dedicated, well thought out menus.

Quality of food was excellent as was discretion and considering the hotel was booked by Ant and Dec, Simon Cowell and co the following evening - nothing stole my mother's thunder for the evening!

Highly recommended.

Wife & I stayed here during half term for a get away from the kids. We'd been for drinks in the past but never stayed.
We booked a Baby Grand room. Check in is supposed to be 3pm, but as we were going for lunch we dropped our bags early. Our room as actually ready so we had use of it from noon. Room was like a duplex with a roll top bath on the decked level, walkin shower an WC. The room was nicely finished and decorated with large stuttered windows, but the view was of the rather drab Granada building.
We had several drinks in the ground floor bar where service was attentive without bearing over bearing, drinks were served with nice little canapés.
Breakfast in bed in the morning was served on time & was very good.
Only 2 downsides would be in the morning withit being a converted building you can hear the drainage from other guests rooms, and the idiot who had stayed the same night who took umbridge with a traffic warden who gave him a ticket. The Guest threatened & chased the Warden around the street. We were leaving just as the Police were arriving. Not a good advert for what is a very good, and special feeing hotel.
