Well what can I say... I have styed at this hotel 5 times and the experience does just get better.... We stayed fot my birthday and it was amazing... the little touches that the hotel do are just fantastic.... speaaking to a friemd the other day and she said she hadn't heard of it... since I shown her my pictres she has recommended it to all of her customers (she is a hair dresser) it has got to be the ncest hotel I have ever stayed in, Tiffany and all the staff should win an award... Tiffany is the general manager and so professional, all the staff were fantastic and so attentive... the hot tub on the roof at 1am with a bottle of pink champagne was to die for too... The breakfast too was amazing.... well done to Tiff and all of the staff at GJS... Please don't change what you do..... xxx

Room Tip: All of the rooms are amazing... especially the ones opposite Granada Studios.. you never know who yo...

I have stayed in this hotel two times and i really love it. It's one of my favourite. The rooms are so amazing. They are all differents but i love the design. I always feel am at home. They are very confortable and very cosy. I love taking a bath in this dream bath. The bed is very good. The room service is nice and the food was tasty.

The service is very warm and professional too.

It's really an amazing HOTEL!!!!

We celebrated my husbands recent retirement and 60th b.day with an overnight stay at GJS. Converted from an old school house, tucked away near Granada Studio's it offers an ecletic approach to its design, along with pictures of some of the children who were pupils which added character. The bedroom, which the style was referred to as Baby Grand did not disappoint, split over two levels with a huge bed downstairs. It offered a flat screen tv with built in dvd, an excellent cd/radio, two comfortable armchairs, a writing desk, a fan and a classy retro glass mirror. Upstairs were the toilet, a lovely deep bath and a walk in shower. Absolutely lovely. The hotel has a roof top "playground" where you can sit and enjoy the night air or take advantage of a hot tub. The staff are friendly, the hotel is spotless, the breakfast selection is great ! The bar area is gorgeous. You cannot open the windows but you simply open the wooden blinds to let light in. It was not stifling, dark, neither hot nor cold. We loved it and want to find an excuse to go back again.

From the moment I walked through the door of Great John Street Hotel I felt I could breathe a sigh of relief. The welcome was so genuine and warm, the process efficient and the atmosphere cosy. I was on a work trip and a delayed train made it all rather a rush so it was great to check in rapidly and have all my questions answered right away. I was struggling with the internet and help was provided and a solution found almost right away.

The quality of everything this hotel offers is exceptional. From the sheets on the bed to the toiletries in the bathroom thought has been given to ensure utmost comfort for the guest. I ordered room service which appeared in a flash and was delicious. I invited my sister to join me for breakfast the next morning and the same warm welcome was extended to her - she wanted to blend 2 items on the menu and this was done without a word of argument. This is one of the things that makes this hotel such a joy to stay in; the staff who are not only friendly but are able to make decisions and take action themselves - none of the usual 'oh I will have to check with the chef / my manager'. I was truly sorry when the time came to check out and return to real life.

went for a 2 day break after finding the hotel online, we were not disappointed, excellent service and the room was amazing. The staff were very charming and helpful, would definitely recommend having a few cocktails in the bar within walking distance of the best manchester has to offer

This must be the best kept secret in Manchester! GJS is a boutique hotel which oozes character from the moment you step through the door and are greeted by the friendly staff to the minute you get to your uniquely styled room. Just off Manchester's Deansgate with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby however the experience is so good you will struggle to venture out. Despite being so close to the bustle of the city centre the hotel is set in a quiet location next door to Granada Studios. Seldom have I stayed in a hotel where every member of staff I met had a smile on there face and were so keen to help. Definitely worth staying here or even a visit for a drink.

We stayed on a Monday so quiet for starters. Staff in the bar and reception great. Intial impressions were very good, the bar area is comfortable with great fixtures and fittings. The food was absoulty lovely hats off to the chef. Ok so the not so good: The room was dark and way too warm. Your unable to open any of the larger windows (rm 38) and because of the design all the cold air sits in the lounge area and doesnt rise to the elevated bedroom space. The overall feeling was one of being claustrophobic and way to warm. I get why people see this place as very chic but it should really concentrate on the basics like heating and light. wouldnt bother again.

Room Tip: We stayed in rm 38 - wierd set up and not good if you want to have some fresh air. There is an a/c u...
