“Friendly staff and convenient location”
Reviewed 14 March 2014

The hotel has a very convenient location - the train from/to the airport stops nearby, the city center with museums, fascinating trams and channels, as well as shopping centres, is within a walking distance. The rooms are clean and quiet. The staff is very polite and responsive to the requests and needs of the guests. I will be happy to go and stay there again.

Check in took ages due to one couple booking the whole of the hotel (seemed like) when down for evening meal about 7.30 and had to wait 45 mins for a table and another 30 mins for food, same people had a table for 24 without booking it, perhaps a maximum table booking would help. Guests with meal vouchers had to wait a long time to get a table. Same group still in restaurant after 3 hours. Staff stressed due to this. Free wifi in the hotel, but because I had used my 30 mins at another premier inn that morning I couldn't log in until after midnight. Spacious room, bit noisy from surrounding rooms. Very busy hotel, comfortable stay, just unfortunate that a large group took over. Would stay again and would book a table as soon as checked in.

Dear Wayne H,

Thank You for taking the time out to review your stay with us here at Deansgate Locks.
I am disappointed to hear you experienced long waiting times on check in and during your dining experience in our restaurant. We do our best to minimise this as much as we can, however we do get busy periods where this may be impacted.
As you stated in your review, we do give all of our guests the opportunity to make a booking in our restaurant, I would advise this for all of our guests when we are busy to allow us to manage the restaurant more efficiently for our guests.
I would like to apologise for the poor experience you had and I do hope you will continue to use Premier Inn again in the future.

Check in was efficiant and simple. The room was clean and noise free with a huge bed, showeroom was basic, but acceptable...a cheap and peaceful stay-I would stay here again with no hesitation. Central to Manchester City.

We went to Manchester for the weekend, and chose the Premier Inn in Deansgate Locks.
What a great nights sleep as the room and bed was so comfortable.
The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful.
The stay was great and very relaxing.

We stayed here for one night whilst seeing a Comedian. I expected more due to the hefty price tag, and I've stayed in better for less in city centres. There was popcorn in the bed, perhaps not changed from the night before, mould was all of the windows, it was smelly, and very cold! More care should be taken especially when your paying £115 a night... Should be a lot lot better! I will not be staying here again that's for sure!!

Dear Philip51,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us at Manchester Deansgate Locks. It is great to hear you enjoyed your stay and you didn't hear much noise from the main road. We have recently had secondary glazing fitted which is proving to be a great investment!

As you pointed out, unfortunately we do not serve food after 10pm, but if you do stay with us again we keep a selection of takeaway menus at reception and we would happily order food in to be delivered.

Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

First of all I was helped by Emma. She was fantastic. I got off of an long international flight and arrived at 8:00 am, and my check-in time wasn't until 2:00 pm. She managed to find me a room so that I could go and catch up on my sleep. Thank you very much for having someone like this on staff to help! It really made the difference on this stay.

The room was comfortable. I enjoyed that they gave you 2 hard and 2 soft pillows so that you can pick and choose what you want. Additionally the parking is free, which is something that you don't always find in England.

For someone new to Manchester it was easy to find with the SatNav, and was located a short walk away from some good sights. If you like museums, you easily walk to the Museum of Science and Industry. It is free, and a good place to spend an extra hour or two. Also, it is near several restaurants and has a restaurant in the hotel. I didn't go to the one in the hotel so I cannot comment on its quality.

All in all, a great stay. I used Booking.com and got a Double Room with breakfast for 85.25 (GBP). The only negative was that the Wi-Fi was 3 (GBP) for 24 hours.

Room Tip: As for a room on an upper level that is facing away from the road to reduce the noise.
