“Family friendly”

We stayed here as a stop gap on our journey to family who live in yorkshire. Our family was greeted warmly, "the children were not ignored as we have encoutered in other hotel chains" the staff made a fuss of the children giving them colouring pictures, they explained to the children to colour them in and bring back to reception where they would claim there prizes. The children were so excited they started these straight away which gave us time to unpack. Later that day the children were given there presents and a cup of hot chocolate which was fantastic. The receptionist sorry forgot there name gave us a couple of spoons of chocolate powder to take to our room. Fantastic experience and the children still talk about it today!!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel on the reception floor.

Booked for 1 night as a stopover with my wife and had phoned ahead speaking to a member of staff called Stephanie asking for a quiet room. On arrival it was Stephanie who checked us in, she remembered our conversation and asked me to check the room I had been given. If I had any issues I would be moved to another room. I could not have asked for better, the room was up to the usual Premier Inn high standard and was extremely quiet. You would not know that you were near a main road. I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat in.
Many thanks to Stephanie for her assistance, we will be back again soon.

We stayed here as a family for a three night break. Our first time in this part of the country we were pleased to be welcomed warmly and made to feel at home.
The room was spacious with very comfy beds and spotlessly clean. The consumables were restocked daily without having to ask.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and generous portions. The dining room is quite dark so difficult to read a paper, maybe better lighting could help.
All in all a good place to stay and great value for money.

This premier inn is just like all the others really. Spacious, clean rooms. Wash facilities are fine.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast was included in the room price but was pretty poor.

We stayed only the one night here and from arriving we had a warm friendly welcome, we were there for the final stone roses heaton park concert and we had a great time !!, the nice lady at reception arranged a taxi to get there for us.

Very happy with everything

Oh as a tip be wary of taxi companies charging extortionate prices if you are returning late back to the hotel !!!

We were given prices of between £25 and £30 for a three mile journey !!!,so be wary I would use the taxi company used by the hotel they will not rip you off.

Stayed in this premier Inn, which, although no complaints, it 'does what it says on the tin' basic, but pleasant and helpful staff. Felt it was expensive (arn't Premier Inns surposed to be cheap/value) At £154 for 2 nights, we think it was rather overpriced!.
Large free car park. Nice large playing field, next to car park sutiable for joggers!

Room Tip: The room we got (room 210) did have a 'stale cigarette' type smell, maybe it had drifted in...

Strange - I normally can't be bothered to write about Premier Inns as the title would usually be 'Ronseal' or 'Does what it says on the Tin'? I find them very much of a muchness and normally they are hard to critique as they are excellent value for money, well equiped, etc. However, I'm moved to put finger to key for this particular hotel - and not for the best reason.

The title says it all - Lennie Henry, you'd be hard pressed to convince anyone about the consistency of the brand if you visited here! Specifically, the smell of the hotel wasn't welcoming - can't explain that one any better... soz. The lighting seemed incredibly dim (maybe they'd gone to Town fitting those horrible low-energy bulbs everywhere?), this wasn't helped by the dark carpet and magnolia walls. The room was also dark, seemed a tad damp and had definitely been the habitat of a smoker (I though that was illegal now?), as the stale tobacco smell was evident and the carpet had a lovely fag burn at the ned of the bed (Btw, I did report this to the receptionist - for what good that was).

Leaving the interior alone - the outside, which is attached to a pub/eatery was drab and the pub itself had paint peeling from its external facades. The funny part about it was that they also seemed to have the same weak lighting, so breakfast was eaten in a kind of 'twighlight'. Talking about the breakfast, apart from the fact they hadn't any sausages, it was well cooked and the service by the lady on duty very efficient - despite being outnumbered by the cleaning ladies 3:1 Here's another funny, there was a plethora of cleaning staff (presumably for the Pub bit), yet all they seemed to do was get in the way of the breakfast guests and make life harder for the solitary m'aitre de ... How bizzare!
Anyway, I've assasinated the place enough - c'mon Premier Inn, spend some money on this tired, drab place please?

Room Tip: Wait till it's been re-vamped??
