“Weekend break”

Stayed at the Premier Inn Central for a concert at the Apollo. Only paid £29 for a very comfortable room which was exceptionally clean. Reception was full of a hen party and a stag do when we checked in and we thought what have we let ourselves in for. However we didn't hear a thing from any other guests during our stay. The shower room was very clean and was the main bedroom. Overall excellent value for money and wouldn't hesitate to stay at the hotel again.

Thought that this was going to be a budget hotel, but eventually it was better. The room was spacious and clean. It had also a hair dryer and a set to make tea/coffee. The bed was very comfort and also had 2-3 pillows to choose from. The location is also very good since its pretty much in the centre. It also has a fitness first gym on the first floor, free to hotel residents.
Breakfast also has choices from cereals, coffee, toasted bread, sausages, scrambled eggs etc.

just returned from 3 night stayed in hotel. Very good location close to city centre. Hotel very clean and tidy with very helpful staff. Only one complaint return at 11pm on Saturday evening after a meal out wanting to have one drink in bar to find it had closed early.

we checked into the hotel no problem, the staff were friendly and helpful and we were able to check in earlier than the 2pm allowed time. Great we thought.

We went up to our room which was number 703, although we thought the room was small we didn't actually care as we were only stopping for the evening as we had got tickets for an event at the M.E.N.

We returned back to our room around 6pm that evening wanting to have showers before going back out again. My shower was luke warm but my partner came out after two minutes saying it had gone cold on him... He wasn't impressed but as we were then running late we didn't have time to complain.

After returning to the room around 11pm that same evening there was still no hot water and the room was very hot. Tried to open the window and neither of us could pull the window despite trying several ways. Where I appreciate that the for security it didn't open that far as we would have been on the balcony outside. We would have been grateful for the window to open even an inch to allow some fresh air into the room. Not very happy.

As the night went on I was awoken by a noise that can only be described as a combination between a hoover and an air-conditioning unit. As neither of those were in the room (and if there was air-con in the room it wasn't something we found) the noise was enough to disturb my sleep and keep me awake for hours. Again not happy!

The next morning we went to use the shower again hoping we would find hot water as we were both ridiculously hot and sweaty from the stupidly hot room we were in. Yet again there was no hot water, not even luke warm water coming through the shower, nor was there anything coming through the tap... We had to boil the kettle in the room to fill the sink for a wash!

We were running against time in the morning due to prior commitments meant we had to leave Manchester as early as possible to get home. We were not in a position to make a gripe or complaint at the hotel.

So we left Premier Inn very tired and not showered!!!

I have stayed in premier inn so many times and never once have a experienced a poor hotel room! I can honestly say that if I hadn't have been made to pay my bill on arrival (which i have never done before at a Premier Inn, normally on departure I have been asked for payment) I would have point blank refused to pay the next morning

For a 'cheap' hotel I don't class £84 as cheap as for an extra £20 I could have stayed in a different 3* or 4* hotel that wouldn't have had these problems.

A simple overnight stop as my sons and I were off to football in Bolton. Cheap n cheerful was all that was required and a comfortable bed/breakfast. This Hotel had both and represented excellent value for money. The old saying that you get what you pay for rings true here but having said that, it was a good deal. My sons had a twin bed room and I had the double room to myself (quite right too eh?). Having checked other hotels on the internet, we couldn't have got anyone better for the price. Worth taking a look.

Room Tip: Close to Manchester Victoria Station which was a primary consideration for us and close enough to Ci...

We arrived early and were checked in quick. The lady was very knowledgeable about local issues and even looked at the venue where we were going to a gig later. She gave us a map and explained how to get there. Our room was slightly bigger than the standard PI rooms. The view from our 7th floor room was nice over Manchester. Plenty of towels shower gels soaps and loo rolls in the bathroom. For a change plenty of teas coffees sugars and milk. Plenty of storage space. Room temperature was spot on. Hairdryer kettle and TV. We didn’t eat in the restaurant.

The only thing to let our stay down was when we came back from the gig aprox ten to midnight the bar was closed and although we were told by the lady at check in we would be able to get a drink we couldn’t! The guy on check in recommended another couple of places to try but both were closed. In fact Manchester was closed well all except McDonalds and we weren’t that desperate!! I think PI should rethink they had 2 guys on reception and a security man sat around then why couldn’t they sell a nightcap? Travelodge will serve residents..........we only wanted a nightcap after a gig...........Oh well PI cant want the money that much!
